#Cre8time Fun with Custom Stamps on #MoldRubberMonday... Tutorial by Maria Soto

Hi there, this is Maria! Today I want to share a fun project using the Amazing Mold Rubber. I have a few pocket size sketch books I like to carry with me everywhere for when inspiration hits me. Some people have suggested I should make stamps out of some of the designs in my books... so I decided to try the new Amazing Mold Rubber to make a few stamps. Unfortunately I didn't have a lot left, from my previous button frame project {CLICK HERE if you missed it}, so I was only able to make one.

I like to recycle and I have saved a few plastic lids from take out – one in particular caught my eye! It was round and already had some design to it... so I just had to add a little bit more to it. I took my hot glue gun and added a few simple designs to the lid, trying to be careful not to melt the plastic.

Here is the plastic lid I used to make my first Amazing Mold Rubber stamp.

Here is a close up of the details added with hot glue.

Next - it's time to mix the Amazing Mold Rubber per directions {CLICK HERE to view video}. Once ready I poured the mixture onto the plastic lid hoping I had enough rubber to make a stamp thick enough for use. I poured and let it set till the next morning {because it's still winter here} normally I would wait 24 hours – but since this mold was pretty thin, I decided to check first thing in the morning and it was set, and it looked pretty good.

This is all the Amazing Mold Rubber leftover from my last
molding to use for this project... it was just enough.

Waiting for the Amazing Mold Rubber to set.

Here is the new Amazing Mold Rubber stamp, ready for use

After I made the stamp, I debated weather I should leave it as is or if I should cut it up and make several small stamps that I could use individually. I decided to leave it alone, and later on I'll make more stamps, in different sizes and shapes.

I could hardly wait to try it out and see if it would work like a regular stamp, and well see for yourself, below are a few photos of impressions made on paper using different types of paints.

I used Tim Holtz Mini Distress Ink Pads on regular sketch paper.

On these two photos to the left I applied Tulip's fabric marker on the Amazing Mold Rubber stamp and on the right you can see how it looks once applied on the sketch book page.

Well I got home and decided to try this stamp on canvas. I had purchased a package of Stick-on 6" x 6" Canvas a while back and thought this would be the perfect time to work on canvas.

I decided to use Viva Decor Paper-Soft paints, first I added a bit of sunny yellow on the canvas, see photo below, I loved the pretty color, it reminds me of Easter.

Next step was to add some colors to the Amazing Mold Rubber stamp
I just made – I wanted it to look colorful, but soft.

These two photos show the stamp with paint all ready for the canvas. I placed the canvas on top of the stamp and pressed down. I just loved the results – below is a photo of the canvas all stamped, just waiting for the heat gun to dry it up fast.

Well now that I had my stamped canvas, I had to do something with it. I added some more stamping, cut the canvas in half, then adhered it to a piece of black scrapbook paper. Now I'm done. Below is my finished project, it will be the front page of a hand made sketchbook I'm putting together to take along and sketch – my #cre8time is important... and keeps them creative juices flowing!!!

We all need to find some time to be creative, it feels good to do something you love, it can be painting, drawing, sewing, cooking, backing, you name it, just take a few minutes to do what you love, it makes a big difference in your day, I know it makes a big difference in mine.
