Good Morning!!! Creative Team designer Susan, here to share a little peek into what I've been working on using Amazing Crafting Products! I love making molds of interesting items, many from nature and especially food! For the past couple of months, I have been developing a series of molds for some exciting resin jewelry I have dreamt up that is created from a variety of different citrus fruits. I have created several molds of grapefruit, orange, lemon and lime slices and now I'm finally getting to enjoy the "FRUIT" of my labor. Above I'm sharing a sneek peek of my first cast slice of an orange – resulting from multiple pours of both Amazing Casting Resin and Amazing Clear Cast Resin {please subscribe via email so you don't miss out when I share the upcoming how-to}.

I am also an avid paper crafter and stamper, and this mold is also perfect for many mixed-media applications. So I took this one step further and created a custom stamp from my citrus slice.

I took my existing mold, then generously lubricated mold with vaseline {because Amazing Mold Putty will fuse to itself}. I mixed up another batch of Amazing Mold Putty and pressed into mold to make a reverse. I used a small juice glass to press into mold and get a nice flat surface. When cured, I have a relief stamp that is a slice of heaven!

I mounted to my acrylic block with some double-sided
adhesive tape and applied ink using a brayer.

Voila! My resulting stamped image. I love the subtle impression it gives, very similar to a traditional fruit or vegetable print - EXCEPT - this stamp is permanent, washable and re-useable! I carried on inking and stamping until I created a couple of sheets of handstamped paper... which I fashioned into this bright, sunny and oooh so tropical paper tote; using some ribbon, burlap trim, purse handles and a few handmade embellishment danglies! This came out so AMAZING – I'm working on stamping onto fabric to make a functional tote for the summer, too!

YEP! The background paper for this paper tote is entirely hand-stamped from my DIY stamp created using Amazing Mold Putty... and it's STUNNING!!! It totally looks store bought, right? Who wouldn't love a handmade gift wrapped like this?

  17. You have no idea how happy your vaseline tip has made me. I have wanted to do something like this for a while now, and haven't, because I couldn't figure out how to keep the putty from fusing. (which is SO handy for other things, and NOT so handy for something like this.) LOVE it.
