A #Cre8time Masquerade... by Aimée Wheaton

Hi creatives!! Time for a new project! This one started with a resin ring I found at a flea market. I always look for odds and ends to mold when I'm antique hunting. We found some super cool pieces and this was one of the. The focal of the photo above was once a black resin ring.

It's hard to see because the ring is black but this is an exact replica of the rose on the ring. I just love Amazing Mold Putty!! So many cool ways to use it. It's easy to mix, just add two equal parts of the white and yellow together and smoosh it like Play-doh until it's one color.

Next I grabbed some Gold Alumidust to put in the mold. This cures with the resin an changes the color properties of the resin itself. It gives it a nice metallic sheen.

Just like pixie dust!

I then sprinkled in some teal micro beads in the mold.

Then I mixed two equal parts of Amazing Clear Cast Resin together ...

and slowly poured it into the mold. I let it sit all day until it was cured.

Lighting is off in this photo - sorry.

While that was curing I finger painted this mask with teal acrylic paint.

I gave it some texture by putting packing bubbles on top and peeling it off.

I sprayed gold, green and teal metallic spray on the mask an let it dry.

Now time to embellish!!!

First I glued on the feathers, gold trim strip and crystals.

I applied gold glitter glue around the eyes.

I glued on the rose and more crystals.

I love how it turned out, this will now be part of my costume for Halloween this year.

Add some blue lipstick and you're ready for the ball!

Have you ever created your own mask?
