I have been using Amazing Casting Resin for over three years now and I still find it to be, not only one of my favorite products, but also one of the most versatile. One of my new favorite ways to use it is with embossing folders.

Embossing Folders are primarily used in paper arts. You add a piece of cardstock in between the folder and then run it through an embossing machine like the Spellbinders Grand Calibur, Sizzix, etc. But today, were going to use them then in a different way! With so many brands and styles to choose from, you can see why I'm so excited about this technique.

Before beginning add some wax paper to your table top. This helps to protect your surface. Next add some Alumilite Gold Metallic Powder to the folder.

Mix up two equal parts of Amazing Casting Resin and add a drop of Alumilite Black Dye to part "A" and mix thoroughly. Please CLICK HERE to view mixing/preparation.

Prop your folder up – making sure the base is flat. Combine parts "A" and "B" of Amazing Casting Resin together stirring completely, and gently pour your resin on top of the folder. Using a popsicle stick, spread it out to desired thickness.

Once cured, gently peel off your resin embossed sheet. Clean your folder with a baby wipe. I simply love the organic edges.

Now my noggin can think up many many ways to use these resin embossed sheet... I can paint a wood box and glue on the sheet in assorted locations, giving the piece texture.

It can also give a handmade journal that extra kick...

I can even make some soldered jewelry...

...and because I have issues with throwing out scraps I also created this magnet using the cut up scraps to make this mosaic like background. I then covered it in Amazing Clear Cast Resin.

With so many embossing folder designs and
the assorted metallic powders the designs are endless.

Happy Creating friends. ~ Cat

#Cre8time for an AMAZING Straightening ACT... Fabulous Rhinestone REDUX by Maria Soto

Hi there, this is Maria bringing you an inspirational post today. We have some new fun products to play with, so I thought I would try these fun Alumidust products to share a few creative ways to use Amazing Clear Cast Resin and Alumidust!!!!

Here is a pair of earrings I made. They are just a single row of rhinestones, but you can see the metal back side. I wanted to do something to cover the standard silver back and also make them lay straight.

After making a mold of the earrings using Amazing Mold Putty, I brushed some of the Alumidust in gold on the mold. I mixed and prepared a small amount of the Amazing Clear Cast Resin and poured a tiny amount into the mold – just enough to cover the backside of the earrings. I let this cure overnight.

The next day I went to check on the mold and removed the earrings. I was so happy to see that the resin worked!!! It colored the back side gold and the earrings are now fun to wear because they lay flat.

Here is the mold showing the Gold Alumidust applied -
ready for the Amazing Clear Cast Resin.

You can see the earrings placed into the mold with the resin; just waiting for the Amazing Clear Cast Resin to cure.

So I have used resin to create molds, to adhere embellishments and now to fix my jewelry. It is fun to have a product that can be used is so many different ways.

Photo shows the front side of the earrings – and you can see a nice gold border created by using the Gold Alumidust. The Amazing Clear Cast Resin worked perfectly to stiffen up these earrings, without adding weight – creating very light earrings.

Here you can see the front and back side of the earrings.

I think they look absolutely amazing on my fabulous model, too!

What fun ways have you used

Spending #Cre8time TRAVELING amongst the Stars... AMAZING Inspiration by Susan M. Brown

Hello Amazing Crafters! Susan with some WHOvian inspiration today. Remember a while back I created a pendant from a rubber stamp using Amazing Mold Putty and Amazing Casting Resin??? Today, I am sharing another mold that I've created to show the AMAZING detail captured by Amazing Mold Rubber... except this is a FANDOM favorite – the Blue Police Box from Doctor Who.

**PLEASE NOTE** I am the illustrator of this stamp and have obtained permission from the manufacturer, Viva Las VegaStamps! in order to do this {as I did with the previous molded stamp}.  Before doing a project such as this you need to check with the companies ANGEL POLICY to make sure you aren't in violation.

This mold I created along with several others prepared when mixing an entire container of Amazing Mold Rubber {please CLICK HERE to view mixing/preparation}. When mold was cured, I painted a variety of blue, gold and pearl Alumidust directly to the mold using a fine paintbrush, and poured a layer of Amazing Clear Cast Resin. I could have used this "AS IS" but I wanted it to have the glowing bright blue color of a proper vessel for time travel.

This is easily remedied! I placed resin piece back into mold and I prepared a small batch of Amazing Clear Cast Resin by mixing equal parts of "A" and "B" {CLICK HERE to view preparation}. To that I added a couple dabs of Blue Alumidust using a recycled coffee stir stick from Starbucks {I just picked a bit up on the end of the stick about 3 times}.

I stirred completely, then poured on top of the cured resin piece.
I used the stick to spread evenly and fill the remaining space in the mold.

BAM! After curing overnight – my Blue Police Box is truly GLOWING! I trimmed off the flashing with scissors and filed the edges with an emory board. Now I have a companion embellishment to adorn my "Ode to the Raggety Man {Doctor 11}" Mini Book. Please CLICK HERE to jump over to my blog to see the "Companion" Doctor WHO Mini Book.

A glowing BLUE BOX for my Time Traveler!
