Amazing Casting Products by Alumilite Corp. is proud to have provided supplies needed to produce hundreds of molded resin cast pieces to be made for each player {all handmade}. Beacon Adhesives supplied Fabric Tac adhesive which helped assembly of fabric and other objects quick and easy.

OH we almost forgot! Please take time to leave each player some love... this collaboration project took lots time and Cre8time love donated by volunteers who gathered, prepared and sent in goodies to Tina who undertook the effort of shipping care packages to each artist – even down to getting everyone linked up for viewing today.

#Cre8time Recycling... Serving Tray REDUX by Melissa Johnson

Hi everyone! Melissa here and today I would like to share a fun Mardi Gras style serving tray featuring Amazing Clear Cast Resin.

SUPPLIES NEEDED:

• Serving Tray
• Plastic Bead Necklaces (found in bulk at Hobby Lobby, but I later found them at Dollar Tree!) 
• Tacky Glue (I used Aleene's® Original Tacky Glue®)
• Amazing Clear Cast Resin

 

As I'm sure I have mentioned before, I LOVE repurposing items and thrifting. It's so much fun to transform things into art pieces! For this project I picked up this really well made serving tray at Goodwill for $4.00.

I spread the tacky glue all over the serving tray with a credit card and laid out my bead necklaces to be within easy reach. Then I started cutting the bead strings and laying out circular designs into the glue.

I continued on with this method until the entire tray was full of color.

When the tray was complete, I mixed up Amazing Clear Cast Resin and poured a few layers over the top – allowing each layer to dry before pouring the next {CLICK HERE to view mixing and preparation}.

 

This took about a week to fully complete. I found that if I pour too thick of a layer of resin at once, it takes longer to cure.

And here is my finished tray, all ready to laissez les bons temps rouler!

#Cre8time Reflections of a Vintage Valentine... by Melissa Johnson

Hi everyone! Valentine's Day has come and gone, but to me, hearts are fabulous any time of the year! For today's inspiration, I would like to share a vintage style heart ornament that I made featuring Amazing Mold Putty and Amazing Casting Resin.

Earlier this year I was fortunate enough to make the trip to CHA and meet and work with my fellow team members at the Amazing Casting Products booth. We had fun scouting out and sharing interesting things to mold. One of the molds I made on that trip was of a frozen Charlotte doll. I used Amazing Mold Putty to mold the doll, then filled it with Amazing Casting Resin. The resin takes paint well, but in this case I opted to leave it in it's natural state and just add a dust of gold.

I had fun adding some pieces of paper doily, vintage style tissue paper, and some flowers and buttons from my stash to complete the project.

#Cre8time Love for Nature... DIY Painted Rocks by Melissa Johnson

Hello everyone! Today I am sharing a fun and easy Valentine's project that you can even include the kids in (I did!).

We have had some beautiful weather here in Texas, so we decided to take this project outside. I had the kids gather up some rocks with flat surfaces from our yard and we washed them in some soapy water.

Next, we painted on our rocks using Mod Podge

to create hearts and other designs.

 

 

 

 

 

Then we added some very fine glitter over the Mod Podge.

After my daughter and I painted our designs, I mixed up some Amazing Clear Cast Resin to coat the top of the rocks and make the glitter really sparkle!

 

It was so much fun that my son even got involved! 

We set them out to dry overnight on a plastic garbage bag.

And here are the finished painted rocks :)

 

The resin coating makes the glitter POP!

Custom #Cre8time Embellishments for #MixedMedia Tapestry... by Melissa Johnson

Hi everyone! Today I am sharing another simple way to use Amazing Casting Resin in a textile project... you may recognize a couple of these buttons from my previous project {CLICK HERE in case you missed it}.

I used Amazing Mold Putty to form a mold of the buttons. I learned a neat trick at CHA when making these small detailed molds. It helps to slightly flatten out the base in the center so it lays nice and flat {CLICK HERE to view mixing/preparation}.

Once the molds cured (about 5 mins), I released the buttons from them and mixed up some Amazing Casting Resin to fill the mold {CLICK HERE to view mixing/preparation}.

I let the resin cure for about 10 minutes before releasing them from the molds. Then I added some clear gesso to each piece and painted them with acrylic paint. I also added some Alumilite Gold Metallic powder on top. 

And the finished product – added to some layers of fabric

Sneaking a little Holiday #Cre8time... AMAZING #jewelry Inspiration by Melissa Johnson

Hello everyone! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday :) Today I am sharing a necklace I made over the Christmas break using goodies in my stash and some Amazing Clear Cast Resin.

I wanted to do something creative, but with all of my kids at home for Christmas break it's hard to get much accomplished. This necklace was very easy to make and I was able to use up some things I had in my stash. Always a bonus in my book!

I used some vintage style buttons and broke the backing off of them so they would lay flat. After some digging I found a bezel I had never used and another resin charm I had made a while back. I hot glued the buttons in the bezel, filled in the space with a few stones, and poured Amazing Clear Cast Resin over the entire piece. I also swirled in a bit of the Gold Alumidust.

Here is the final piece, all completed and put together.

Dress the Walls with a little #Cre8time Recycling... by Melissa Johnson #12daysofHomeDecor

Hi everyone! Today I wanted to share with you a mixed media wall hanging I've created as a gift for my sister in law (shh... don't tell her!)

To begin, I started with an old piece of barnwood that a friend passed along to me. I lightly painted it with turquoise acrylic paint, then sanded it a bit to smooth it out and distress the paint.

 
 

I set the board aside and began working with some bottle caps and vintage images. I placed the images inside of the bottlecaps, and poured Amazing Clear Cast Resin inside of each one.

I dug through my stash and found a picture of a vintage girl and added her to the board, along with the bottlecaps.

I finished off the entire project by adding a fun little phrase to the girl, a vintage style button, and some twine. Here it is all finished and ready to be gifted!
