#Cre8time Fashion Forward... #DIY Floral Hat Pin by Aimée Wheaton

Create these painterly flowers to add flair to your hats or scarves.

Hello, creatives! Aimée here today sharing a new project that was a test for me. I wanted to see if I could create a larger mold out of smaller molded objects glued together and I'm happy to say that my Amazing Casting Products didn't fail the test!!

I really had a lot of fun with this project – it is so versatile. My original thought was to drill holes on both sides and create a cuff necklace. I may still experiment with that. I've never combined molded/cast items to create a larger molded piece so I was really excited when it worked for me.

So here we go!

 

The first thing I did was to create a mold of this metal leaf I had cut off of a home decor piece. I mixed two equal parts of Part "A" and Part "B" of Amazing Mold Putty and formed it around the leaf. CLICK HERE to view mixing/preparation.

Next, I mixed equal parts of Amazing Casting Resin and poured into the different flowers molds I had (from previous projects) to create different flowers. CLICK HERE to view mixing/preparation.

I love molding flowers apparently! When the resin cured I arranged them in a resin bouquet and hot glued them together to arrange one solid piece. I could have stopped here – but I wanted to take it one step further...

So I used Amazing Mold Putty again to create a larger mold of these united all together as one piece. You can see the glued piece, the solid piece, and the mold together here!

I filled this new mold with Amazing Casting Resin.

This results in a beautiful opaque white resin piece... a blank canvas for embellishing! I painted the solid piece with acrylic paint and added some blingy glitter. I sealed it with a varnish and then glued on a pin back so it can be used on a hat.

Here it is!!

I like how Frida Kahlo-esque it looks!

#Cre8time Transformations... from Resin Castoffs to Amazing Adornments by Aimée Wheaton

Is it a jar topper or a funky little tree?!! Who knows? The options are endless when you keep your castoffs and use them in unconventional ways. I started rummaging through my box of castoffs and had to think outside the box for something to create and came up with this little idea.

I will say first off I created all these pieces over time, they were made from mixing equal parts of Amazing Casting Resin that I mixed too much of. Some were dyed with Alumilite Dyes and others were just left white.

The only non-resin piece is the wooden tree shaped item. I took my hot glue gun and glued them all together with the wood piece being on top.

Here it is all glued. Next I took some gold acrylic and painted the whole thing. I added silver glitter while it was wet.

  

I had this fleur-de-lis that wasn't in the best shape, so I added some glue and then sprinkled it with purple glitter, then glued it to the front of the stacked golden tree.

So pretty!! Makes a perfect topper for my stash of vintage buttons!

Here's another idea for you!

I took another castoff that I had created... drilled a hole in the top to loop wire through and started painting! Again this was created with a dyed resin castoff.

Where this piece started from – a violet dyed resin heart.

To this I added different colors of acrylic paint.

  

I added some glitter and this little amazing pendant I created with Amazing Clear Cast Resin and glitter. I also hot glued an antique button in the center of the heart.

I'm glad I kept all of these castoffs and trinkets.

I really liked how they turned out!!

Bring a #Cre8time Touch of Summer Indoors... by Susan M. Brown {sbartist}

Hello Amazing Crafters and welcome to June – where did the previous 5 months go?!! Susan here with some summertime Cre8time inspiration. I wanted to make a wreath using one of the Smoothfoam™ Ruled Wreaths to bring some of the beach indoors {since I do live in SoFL}... so with the wreathform, some natural twine and raffia I've combined the two to create a beautiful dreamcatcher.

My dreamcatcher has taken on a weathered beachy feel, so it is only natural to add a special piece in the center of the weaving... an Amazing Clear Cast Resin cast crowned starfish that was molded in Amazing Mold Putty. I love the sea-glass look and feel the clear cast resin piece has. I did come back and brush a bit of clear cast to the tips of each arm to give a glossy shimmer. A rub with some inks in pink and gold, then buffed away and this starfish is ready to add to my piece.

Amazing Planner Clip Charm?

I admit it, I am a planner nerd. I have always love paper and pens and kept a planner/organizer when I was younger but didn't really get into the planner craze until a few months ago. My best friend opened my eyes and hinting by sending me planner related gifts so I was bit by the bug and bought my first planner. I love my Me and My Big Ideas Happy Planner and I have found planner peace. 

When asked to do a tutorial using Amazing Casting Products, I thought it would be perfect to make myself a unique planner clip full of yummy charms. I chose the pink them as it is my favorite color. So join me as you look at these pictures as I teach you how to make your own. It is easy and all you need is a few tools and of course my favorite products, including Amazing Mold Putty and Amazing Casting Resin.

My first step was to mold the plastic bow

hair tie I had in my crafting stash.

I mixed equal amounts of the Amazing Mold Putty and formed a ball. Working fast – as the putty will set within 3 minutes (sometimes sooner depending on the temperature where you are). CLICK HERE to view mixing/preparation.

I gently pushed down the bow inside the Amazing Mold Putty making sure the bottom was flat and top was even –  and that the putty covered the bow on all its sides and nooks and crannies. I let the bow hang out inside the putty for about 5 minutes and then took the bow out and let it cure for another 5 minutes. I just like to be extra sure that is cured before I pour my resin.

I got my measuring cups ready and non-plastic cup ready as well as my stirring stick. Notice on the small measuring cups you see a black line. I mark the measuring cups like this so I measure the correct amount of each of the 2 parts. This is a great tip to ensure you have equal amounts because if you don't it might not cure properly. Use Watermelon Ranger Alcohol ink to tint your Amazing Casting Resin a light pink by using one tiny drop. The more drops you add, the darker shade of pink/red you will achieve. I mixed the 2 parts together, then added my resin to the mold. I let it cure until is dry but while it's still a little flexible. Usually I just let it cure completely – however, since I wanted to use these bows as charms, I wanted to punch a small hole through them. 

I gathered my supplies of a wide link chain I had in my stash and a clip I purchased from Daiso and of course my needle nose pliers so I can open the chain links to insert my charms.

I opened the jump rings and started adding my favorite charms to them. I also added a tassel and some pretty trims. I wanted this planner clip charm to reflect my style... but you can make it your own – the possibilities of using Amazing Mold Putty and Amazing Casting Resin are endless. 

Here are some pictures of the finished product. And because I like giving more than receiving, I will be giving this to a friend as a gift for her planner and have already started a new one for myself! I hope I have inspired you to make one for yourself. #Cre8time Brings Back the 80's... AMAZING Inspiration from Aimée Wheaton

I won't even show you how awful my hair was in the 80's ... but I will say if it was brightly colored, jelly-like in substance and had holes in it – I was wearing it, the more paint splatter the better and the hipper you were! I ROCKED the 80's and was made fun of for it by the yuppy kids. Oh well!

Why the 80's? Well I'm headed to Chicago for my makeup biz in August and the first night is 80's night! Still putting together my outfit but I knew I had just the accessories to wear from a previous project that I knew I could turn more 80's like with a little bit of paint and ink!

Here was the clean slate to start with.

I just used acrylic craft paint in bright colors.

A better quality turquoise here.

I painted the background pink with a brush then used a bamboo skewer to dab on the blue paint. I forgot a photo of the black (liquid) acrylic ink that I put on with the skewer as well.

While the paint was still wet I sprinkled on some silver glitter and here ya go! Looks super 80's to me and the best part is they are very light to wear because I used Amazing Casting Resin!!

Now wish me luck in putting together the right outfit!

GREEN with #Cre8time Envy... AMAZING #Polymer Jewels by Tracy Alden

Hello! Tracy here with another Amazing Casting Products project! Following in the footsteps of my last Polymer Clay and Resin project, I wanted to try more ways of doing resin coats on clay to highlight detail and to give a more finished look. This time I thought about creating the look of glazed porcelain, perfect for a series of Garden themed jewelry. 

Supplies:

• Amazing Clear Cast Resin
• Alumilite's 4 Piece Carver Set
• Alumilite Dye
• Polymer Clay – oven cure or air dry, both work well for this project
• Small clay or cookie cutters
• Emery Board 
• Baking Parchment Paper 
• Toothpicks 
• Chain and Glass Beads from Fiona Accessories
• Small Hand Drill

I started with conditioned polymer clay, tinted a pale green. I stacked two pieces of conditioned clay to create the base for the pieces and used an acrylic roller to blend the layers.

Using small clay cutters, I cut oval and circle

shapes to create the jewelry pieces.

Using Alumilite's 4 Piece Carver Set, I created thin lines that looked like reeds, being careful to press into the clay deep enough to act as a mini reservoir for a resin pour later on.

After creating reeds and small lines to look like branches, I used the Alumilite's 4 Piece Carver Set to press in little indentations to look like stylized leaves and blooms. I then baked the clay as per the manufacturers instructions. *If you use air dry clay make sure to let them dry overnight.* 

Once the pieces are fully cured, I lightly sanded the edges

and made sure any loose bits of clay or dust was removed.

I mixed a small amount of green Alumilite Dye with Amazing Clear Cast Resin, making sure to fully stir the dye into the resin and let it sit for 10 minutes. By letting the resin sit for 10 minutes, the resin will be thicker and stick more to the polymer clay pieces. I carefully applied the resin to the front of the pieces with a toothpick, making sure to get in all the carved elements and popping any air bubbles that formed.

I carefully removed any drips and excess resin with a cosmetic sponge, careful to blot the excess lightly as to not soak up the resin filling in the carved details. I let them cure completely, as per manufacturers instructions.

Once all of the pieces were fully cured, I carefully drilled holes with a hand drill to be able to thread cord or wire through each piece.

With the addition of chain and glass beads

from Fiona Accessories the pieces are ready to wear!
