#Cre8time Fashion Forward... #DIY Floral Hat Pin by Aimée Wheaton

Create these painterly flowers to add flair to your hats or scarves.

Hello, creatives! Aimée here today sharing a new project that was a test for me. I wanted to see if I could create a larger mold out of smaller molded objects glued together and I'm happy to say that my Amazing Casting Products didn't fail the test!!

I really had a lot of fun with this project – it is so versatile. My original thought was to drill holes on both sides and create a cuff necklace. I may still experiment with that. I've never combined molded/cast items to create a larger molded piece so I was really excited when it worked for me.

So here we go!

The first thing I did was to create a mold of this metal leaf I had cut off of a home decor piece. I mixed two equal parts of Part "A" and Part "B" of Amazing Mold Putty and formed it around the leaf. CLICK HERE to view mixing/preparation.

You can see the impression here. :) It's a reusable mold now.

Next, I mixed equal parts of Amazing Casting Resin and poured into the different flowers molds I had (from previous projects) to create different flowers. CLICK HERE to view mixing/preparation.

I love molding flowers apparently! When the resin cured I arranged them in a resin bouquet and hot glued them together to arrange one solid piece. I could have stopped here – but I wanted to take it one step further...

So I used Amazing Mold Putty again to create a larger mold of these united all together as one piece. You can see the glued piece, the solid piece, and the mold together here!

I filled this new mold with Amazing Casting Resin.

This results in a beautiful opaque white resin piece... a blank canvas for embellishing! I painted the solid piece with acrylic paint and added some blingy glitter. I sealed it with a varnish and then glued on a pin back so it can be used on a hat.

Here it is!!

I like how Frida Kahlo-esque it looks!

What do you think?

Let's see what you can
create by combining molds!

Sealed with a #Cre8time Kiss... DIY Springtime Frame by Maria Soto

Today I want to share a nice project I made using an inexpensive wood frame that I purchased at Michael's {similar to this one}.

I really had no idea what I was going to do with this frame, so many ideas came to mind. I figured this would be a simple project, and I let my creative ideas just come to me as I worked on this piece.

First thing I did was decided on two colors to use – since we are still waiting for Spring to come here in Indiana, I thought why not use red and yellow acrylic paints... they remind me of the warmth from the sun. I painted the frame and left it alone for a couple of days waiting for some more ideas to come to me.

One day I was working on some resin projects and had quite a bit of Amazing Clear Cast Resin left, I usually just pour extra resin into old molds but this time I thought why not use the extra resin to cover the front of this frame and make it look like it's all glass; so I took a foam make-up applicator and applied the resin over the entire front of the frame.

The Amazing Clear Cast Resin is so easy to mix and use, and depending on the climate where you live, it can start to set within 30 minutes of mixing. Just remember to use equal amounts of both parts "A" and "B" to make sure your resin sets perfectly {CLICK HERE for full mixing instructions}. The photos show how the painted frame looks after adding the clear resin.

It was then that I thought about adding some flowers to the frame and I noticed the tiny clear beads I had taken out to used on my other resin projects and figured these would give the frame a bit of dimension. I added these tiny clear beads on some parts of the red areas, and next it was time to add some flowers on the resin before it all sets. I also took some paper and fabric flowers and tiny butterflies and added these over the resin, playing around a bit. I was able to move the flowers from one area to another until I was happy with the placement, as long as the resin has not started to set, you can move your embellishments around like I did here.

Once I was happy with the look of the frame I let it set over night. There's no glass in the photo section of this frame but the frame itself looks like it's all covered in glass thanks to the Amazing Clear Cast Resin. A very simple project, but very pretty and ready for a nice photo of the kids to give to Grandma as a gift, or for me to keep at the office... just a nice "Spring" like frame.

How would you use resin on a frame?

I used it to embellish the frame and as a adhesive on this project. Share your ideas with us, we'd love to see how creative you are with Amazing Clear Cast Resin.

Painted Posies and #Cre8time Page Marking for #ArtJournaling by Melissa Johnson

Hello everyone! Today I'm sharing a simple technique that I used to add some color in the margin of my Bible. This technique could be used in an art journal as well. I just happened to be working through a Bible study at the moment. I've also created some fun paperclips that could be used in any journal or planner. I chose to use one of these in my Bible to hold my place. I like to use paperclips also to attach extra notes and notecards inside.

To create the artwork in the margin, I started by embossing some flowers using Versamark® ink and some embossing powder. Versamark is a clear watermark ink used for stamping, heat embossing and other mixed media effects.

Next, I used more Versamark® to stamp and then poured on Alumidust to add color. The Alumidust sticks to the wet ink, and the rest is tapped away to go back into the container.

I also used a combination of Versamark®, Alumidust, and watercolor to color in the embossed flowers. I also used some acrylic paint to add some color all around.

To create the paperclips I used Amazing Mold Putty and Amazing Casting Resin to cast some cabochons that I had in my stash.

I added some acrylic paints in fun colors
and adhered them to some jumbo paperclips.

And the final result:

Milk Glass or Mercury Glass? Fabulous FAUX Bud Vases by Lynne Suprock

Lynne here again with a tutorial about using special effects, for the garden princess in you. Whether you are a flower gatherer or a floral arranger, you will love trying out this little project!

So... lots of my friends know that I love flowers and love setting little vases around the house holding bits of garden greenery or fresh clipped flower buds. I have one favorite crystal vase that I thought would make the a perfect piece to use in an Amazing Mold Rubber and Amazing Casting Resin experiment. I wanted to create milk glass and mercury glass look-a-like vases, and I was quite pleased with the final results.

Fabulous Faux Milk Glass side-by-side with Faux Mercury Glass

Find a container tall enough to cover your vase to be a mold box (I used a yogurt container). Add a little hot glue, and position the vase in the bottom.

My original crystal mounted inside container.

If you have old leftover pieces Amazing Mold Rubber from past projects, cut it up and throw into the container – which reduces the amount of mold rubber that you will have to mix for the project.

Mix the Amazing Mold Rubber (see video instructions by clicking HERE) and pour it into the mold box containing the vase.

Once cured, remove the glass by making a clean cut
down the side of the Amazing Mold Rubber mold.

Secure the empty mold with rubber bands and also secure the bottom of the mold to a large piece of packing tape. This will keep any Amazing Casting Resin from leaking out the side or bottom until it cures.

Prepare and pour an inch of Amazing Casting Resin into the vase mold so that it fills the bottom (see video instructions by clicking HERE). Quickly position a length of 5/8” diameter of vinyl tubing into the center of the vase mold, and partially down into the Amazing Casting Resin which was just poured.

Hold the tube into position for about 5 minutes, or until
the Amazing Casting Resin changes to an opaque white.

Now mix and pour additional Amazing Casting Resin to fill up the remainder of the space in the mold so that it is level with the top of the vinyl tubing. Let cure.

Remove the packing tape as shown from bottom.

Remove the packing tape and the rubber bands and demold the white vase.

File down any rough edges with a metal file.

Fill this milk glass look-a-like with water and add some flowers.

If you would like to create a mirrored, or mercury glass finish, spray the vase with a chrome paint. Be sure to do this in an area that is well ventilated, then let dry.

Fill with water and flowers. Cool!

What would you create a fabulous faux
