Captured Love!!! #Cre8time Jewels by Maria Soto

Hi there! Maria here today with a little something I wanted to share... my take on a "Beauty & The Beast" love project. I put together a couple of tiny and very pretty pendants... the rose reminds me of the "Rose" from Beauty and the Beast.

I went shopping for some coloring pens at Michael's one day and took a look at their clearance section. I noticed some little glass dome charms and thought, why not, so I got the three packs they had left. Not sure what I would do with these but figured they would come in handy one day.

I had some tiny flowers and hearts I had cast previously with some leftover resin from another project I was working on, and they were the perfect size to fit in this little "cloches" {name marked on the package}.

I mixed a very small batch of Amazing Clear Cast Resin and added some of the Alumilite blue dye. I placed a very tiny amount onto the metal part of the jewelry component – using the resin as a glue to hold the tiny heart and the glass dome.

For the tiny rose, I used Mod Podge Dimensional Magic in glitter as a glue too. I also added some clear rhinestones to both pieces.

A very simple project – once the resin and the dimensional magic cured, all I had to do was add a chain and these lovely domed pieces are ready to wear.

I hoped I have inspired you to create something new using extra pieces you have leftover from old projects. Please share your creations with us by leaving a comment below or on social media.

#Cre8time Treasures... Handmade Heart Keepsake by Bridget Cordero

One of the saddest days in our lives happened when my daughters father died. We were expecting it for some time but are never really prepared for loosing a loved one. We received his ashes in a black box they give you at the funeral parlor. We could not decide on an urn so we brought him home in that box.

My daughter decided to create a shrine in her room of her dad, it is filled with memories and pictures and just beautiful. After seeing this I wanted to give her something small that she could display anywhere and that's when I came up with this heart keepsake.

I had this little heart box made of plastic and decided this would work perfectly. I mixed up some Amazing Mold Rubber and made a mold of the heart {CLICK HERE to view mixing/preparation}.

Once cured I removed it from the plastic container and popped out the heart. My mold was ready for some Amazing Clear Cast Resin and the embellishments I had chosen to put in it.

Figuring the best way to go about this was by using layers, I mixed up the a small amount of the Amazing Clear Cast Resin and poured it into the mold {CLICK HERE to view mixing/preparation}. I found a shamrock and placed that with a metal "love" charm into the resin. Once this cured for 12 hours, I carefully took some of Abbey's Dads ashes and laid them on that layer. I mixed up more Clear Cast and poured another layer in. I decided some blue glitter was needed and at this point added it. Once this cured I added one more layer of Clear Cast. I gave this two full days to cure before I popped it out of the mold.

I'm so happy with the way this came out and thankful that my daughter will have this beautiful keepsake for the rest of her life because of these amazing products.

What special keepsakes would you create?

#Cre8time Reflections of a Vintage Valentine...
by Melissa Johnson

Hi everyone! Valentine's Day has come and gone, but to me, hearts are fabulous any time of the year! For today's inspiration, I would like to share a vintage style heart ornament that I made featuring Amazing Mold Putty and Amazing Casting Resin.

Earlier this year I was fortunate enough to make the trip to CHA and meet and work with my fellow team members at the Amazing Casting Products booth. We had fun scouting out and sharing interesting things to mold. One of the molds I made on that trip was of a frozen Charlotte doll. I used Amazing Mold Putty to mold the doll, then filled it with Amazing Casting Resin. The resin takes paint well, but in this case I opted to leave it in it's natural state and just add a dust of gold.

I had fun adding some pieces of paper doily, vintage style tissue paper, and some flowers and buttons from my stash to complete the project.

#Cre8time Love is in the Air... Custom Valentine's Day Treat Box by Aimée Wheaton

Hi All!! Back at ya in the month of L-O-V-E! I really am happy with how this project turned out and it's a simple way to take another step beyond just buying a box of chocolates on the end cap at Walgreen's for someone special. As I was brainstorming this idea, it really just came together.

I had purchased an antique brass set of "X" & "O" about a year ago in hopes of using it for a Valentine's themed project, that never happened because I was on my cruise during that time so I thought what a perfect time for this project. These are the size that go on houses and they are heavy.

XOXO

I took my Amazing Mold Putty and molded these two. The "O" was a perfect mold and the "X" gave me trouble – I had to mix up more putty to put around the edges to create more of a lip that's why it looks so wonky here, though it turned out better than I thought it would have. I like that you can add to your molds if you need to correct them {the mold putty fuses to itself}.

Empty molds ready for resin, but wait!

I almost forgot before I even dove into mold making I had painted a generic, red, sparkly heart box I purchased at Hobby Lobby. Using a stencil and gold acrylic paint I painted on polka dots of various sizes. I like being able to alter store bought things and make them my own. Who wants the same thing everyone else has, I don't!

OK! Back to the molds and resin...

So I decided I wanted to do something fun and the result turned out better than I had hoped. Originally I was going to make the "X" and "O" look like antique brass but decided against it because I love color too much. So I painted the molds with Interference Red Alumidust before pouring in the resin.

It's super pretty!!

I knew I needed my resin to be darker for this to turn out cool so I mixed Amazing Casting Resin with our Alumilite Violet Dye until it was dark, deep purple. You mix it into Part "A" of the resin (clear). Then I mixed both parts of the resin together and poured into the mold {CLICK HERE to view mixing/preparation}.

Look how dark it is – I couldn't tell if it was hardening up because it was so dark. As always I made too much resin so I poured it into molds on my desk that I had there already. One was the birds that you see in the first photo. I didn't put any Alumidust in that mold so the birds turned out much darker than the "X" and "O". I let the Amazing Casting Resin cure and pulled them out of the molds.

I think I squealed when I saw how the color turned out!!! Just checking out the placement and what I was going to do here. I decided to distress the birds and the "X" and "O" with a bit of gold paint to make it cohesive. Then started placing them on the box.

I found the placement I liked and then glued them down. I added some metal arrow charms with glue and threw on some micro beads in teal to stick to the extra glue for a little more POP!

LOVE how it turned out!! It was a quick and easy project. Next fill the box with whatever goodies you want to share and you're good to go!! I am filling it with chocolate and will be putting it in the break room at work to share with my hardworking coworkers to sweeten their day!

This project would be cute on a smaller scale too with those little papier-mâché boxes you can get. The ideas are limitless when it comes to resin and customizing things! Hope you like this project!

XOXO

Squeeze in a Little Home Spun #Cre8time... AMAZING Inspiration by Aimée Wheaton

Keys ... we all have them. Most of the time we have a junk drawer with single keys that we have no idea where they came from or what they lock or unlock, here is a creative solution to that! Don't go spend your hard earned money on custom keys or pre-made designs because you can do your own with some simple products and Amazing Clear Cast Resin. I didn't have time to go get some new keys to decorate (leaving for a big trip in the morning) so I grabbed the biggest key I could find at my house and did a simple little painted design for it. What did I do? Glad you asked!

I wrapped the bottom of the key first and then I simply painted the pattern in acrylic right on top of the original key. You could glue down paper or whatever you wanted to do, I chose paint. I added a bit of glitter. So simple!

Painted here.

Add some glitter/mix some Amazing Clear Cast Resin {CLICK HERE to view mixing/preparation} and paint it on with a craft stick lightly and that's it!!

There are so many ideas for this simple project – when I have more time, I plan to make a bunch more.

Here are a few ideas for you to try on your own:
  • Personalized keys for each member of the family, this would definitely come in handy with older kids or teens especially after school.
  • Make a custom necklace ... "you have the key to my heart" or something like that.
  • Have different locks for the home you could label them so you know what goes to what.
The options are endless!!

#Cre8time Brings Back the 80's... AMAZING Inspiration from Aimée Wheaton

I won't even show you how awful my hair was in the 80's ... but I will say if it was brightly colored, jelly-like in substance and had holes in it – I was wearing it, the more paint splatter the better and the hipper you were! I ROCKED the 80's and was made fun of for it by the yuppy kids. Oh well!

Why the 80's? Well I'm headed to Chicago for my makeup biz in August and the first night is 80's night! Still putting together my outfit but I knew I had just the accessories to wear from a previous project that I knew I could turn more 80's like with a little bit of paint and ink!

Here was the clean slate to start with.

I just used acrylic craft paint in bright colors.

A better quality turquoise here.

I painted the background pink with a brush then used a bamboo skewer to dab on the blue paint. I forgot a photo of the black (liquid) acrylic ink that I put on with the skewer as well.

While the paint was still wet I sprinkled on some silver glitter and here ya go! Looks super 80's to me and the best part is they are very light to wear because I used Amazing Casting Resin!!

Now wish me luck in putting together the right outfit!

#Cre8time Keeps You "Young at Heart"... Inspirational #MixedMedia from Aimée Wheaton!

Hi all! Aimée here today to share my first project with Amazing Crafting Products. I'm thrilled to be a new member on this AMAZING design team. I'm still learning the products and what works well together so my design is pretty basic. I've fallen back into my mixed media roots for this one and I hope it inspires you to create something fun!

I had a completely different idea in my head before this one popped up! While browsing a thrift shop I found this sweet glass heart container, I love browsing antique shops and stores for unique items to mold!! My new phrase is "OMG, I can mold that!!" The coolest part is that it was only $1.49! YAY!

I molded the top part of the glass because it seemed to have more details showing versus the bottom. The mold picked up even the mistakes in the glass. Amazing Mold Putty lives up to it's name! CLICK HERE to view mixing/preparation.

Now that I have my mold created  I brushed on some Alumidust powders to give it a shimmery effect. I then mixed Amazing Casting Resin and let it sit and do it's thing {CLICK HERE to view mixing and preparation}. When it was finished I demolded the heart and the colors weren't as vibrant as I had hoped it would be (sorry forgot to take a photo of it)... so I decided to paint it with some of my favorite acrylic colors instead.

I left some of the shimmery blues and purples showing through in some areas so it still has a bit of that original look I wanted. I love my little heart so far! I had a piece of thin MDF board that was used in another piece of art and I decided to use that as the background and paint something simple using the same colors I used in the heart.

On this background I placed where I wanted my heart to be and traced around it in the wet paint for placement. The black marks I created using some handmade stamps of mine and StazOn Jet Black ink.

The heart needed some contrast so I rubbed the ink pad onto the top and sides so it would bring out the edges and make it POP! Next up my drill press!!

I drilled 4 holes around the heart where I wanted the wires to go. This is 20 gauge copper wire. I took the wires out and put a dab of E6000® glue to keep the heart in place and then put the wires back in and twisted them in the back.

Next up – some sticker embellishments and ink.

I drilled more holes and added this fun embellishment, a painted piece of driftwood, more wire, chain and a handmade pendant by Jade Scott.

Here it is all together!

I hope I have inspired you with this creation! It combines a lot of different mixed media elements in one piece. I plan on making heart earrings from the same mold but much thinner! So much you can do with the right imagination! Hope you enjoyed it!

XOXO Aimée
