#Cre8time Love is in the Air... Custom Valentine's Day Treat Box by Aimée Wheaton

Hi All!! Back at ya in the month of L-O-V-E! I really am happy with how this project turned out and it's a simple way to take another step beyond just buying a box of chocolates on the end cap at Walgreen's for someone special. As I was brainstorming this idea, it really just came together.

I had purchased an antique brass set of "X" & "O" about a year ago in hopes of using it for a Valentine's themed project, that never happened because I was on my cruise during that time so I thought what a perfect time for this project. These are the size that go on houses and they are heavy.

XOXO

I took my Amazing Mold Putty and molded these two. The "O" was a perfect mold and the "X" gave me trouble – I had to mix up more putty to put around the edges to create more of a lip that's why it looks so wonky here, though it turned out better than I thought it would have. I like that you can add to your molds if you need to correct them {the mold putty fuses to itself}.

Empty molds ready for resin, but wait!

I almost forgot before I even dove into mold making I had painted a generic, red, sparkly heart box I purchased at Hobby Lobby. Using a stencil and gold acrylic paint I painted on polka dots of various sizes. I like being able to alter store bought things and make them my own. Who wants the same thing everyone else has, I don't!

OK! Back to the molds and resin...

So I decided I wanted to do something fun and the result turned out better than I had hoped. Originally I was going to make the "X" and "O" look like antique brass but decided against it because I love color too much. So I painted the molds with Interference Red Alumidust before pouring in the resin.

It's super pretty!!

I knew I needed my resin to be darker for this to turn out cool so I mixed Amazing Casting Resin with our Alumilite Violet Dye until it was dark, deep purple. You mix it into Part "A" of the resin (clear). Then I mixed both parts of the resin together and poured into the mold {CLICK HERE to view mixing/preparation}.

Look how dark it is – I couldn't tell if it was hardening up because it was so dark. As always I made too much resin so I poured it into molds on my desk that I had there already. One was the birds that you see in the first photo. I didn't put any Alumidust in that mold so the birds turned out much darker than the "X" and "O". I let the Amazing Casting Resin cure and pulled them out of the molds.

I think I squealed when I saw how the color turned out!!! Just checking out the placement and what I was going to do here. I decided to distress the birds and the "X" and "O" with a bit of gold paint to make it cohesive. Then started placing them on the box.

I found the placement I liked and then glued them down. I added some metal arrow charms with glue and threw on some micro beads in teal to stick to the extra glue for a little more POP!

LOVE how it turned out!! It was a quick and easy project. Next fill the box with whatever goodies you want to share and you're good to go!! I am filling it with chocolate and will be putting it in the break room at work to share with my hardworking coworkers to sweeten their day!

This project would be cute on a smaller scale too with those little papier-mâché boxes you can get. The ideas are limitless when it comes to resin and customizing things! Hope you like this project!

XOXO

#Cre8time Pumpkin Favors filled with Thanksgiving Treats...

Greetings Amazing – welcome to our final day of PUMPKIN WEEK! Susan here to share some DIY treats for the Thanksgiving table settings. Not only did I mold my real mini pumpkins using Amazing Mold Rubber – I made a few molds for molding chocolates and other sweet treats using Amazing Remelt, and Amazing Mold Putty. If you missed my faux iced birthday pumpkin, CLICK HERE and to jump over to view my faux gilded pumpkins HERE.

Amazing Remelt and Wilton Candy Melts both melt down in minutes in the microwave making custom sweet treats like a pro quick and easy.

First I selected a tapered glass bowl deep enough to fully cover my pumpkin, then melted down a container of Amazing Remelt using the lowest setting on my microwave in thirty second increments until it was completely liquified.

**A TIP** I poured a small amount into my bowl and let cool a bit before placing pumpkin in it. ALSO, I dipped the top of the pumpkin into the liquid remelt to coat the stem and let any air bubbles release before fully covering with Amazing Remelt.

After cooling in the refrigerator for a while {it was all day since I had to go to work}, I removed the mold from the bowl. I gently cut the mold in half using a sharp Xacto knife and released the pumpkin. Now I'm ready to make some chocolate mini pumpkins.

I melt down the Wilton Candy Melts following the directions for microwave in a pourable pyrex measuring cup. I scooped the melted chocolate in the Amazing Mold Putty mini pumpkin, on both sides of mold, filling completely. I placed the top half of the mold aligned to my marks and placed in refrigerator to chill and harden.

I repeated by filling the Amazing Remelt mold and spread chocolate to evenly coat edges and leave center open – this pumpkin I will fill with an assortment of roasted seeds/nuts and mini dark chocolate chips... a perfect edible favor for the table settings.

The chocolate hardens very quickly – then I can remove, set aside on a tray in the fridge and make another set. These are fun to make and can made well in advance of the Thanksgiving Day feast!

A Valentine's Day REMELT... Can You Taste the Difference by Lynne Suprock

Hi all! Lynne Suprock here again for a February Amazing Casting Products Design Team tutorial. 'Tis the month where chocolate is in the hearts and on the minds of most Valentine's Day traditionalists. Today I want to share a cool way to celebrate the holiday with friends, taste testing chocolate of course!

I began by opening a box from one of my favorite chocolatiers and selecting a few pieces to set aside as samples to be later eaten. Then I used the empty box inserts and Amazing Remelt to make replicas of the select pieces, only using my own chocolate concoctions to do it. Mwa-hahaha.

Everyone gets to sample all of the chocolates and then see if they could guess the pieces that are the real deal. Lot's of fun!

In the second half of the video, I combine Amazing Remelt and Amazing Mold Putty to make a signature chocolate heart piece... as good to look at as it is to eat. Enjoy the video tutorial!

AMAZING #Cre8time Holiday Treats... #Handmade Chocolate Gifts by Tracy Alden

Hello! Tracy here with another Amazing Casting Products inspired project! With the holidays just right around the corner there are so many last minute crafty details I have yet to finish. One of my favorite crafty details is a holiday tradition to make flavored fudge to give as gifts to family and friends. I normaly make up the fudge, pour it into a square baking pans to cool and cut up into bite size pieces to be wrapped. However I got to thinking how Amazing Remelt might help me make the fudge pieces look more festive!

Supplies:
 Fudge Recipe:
  • 12oz Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 1 can (14oz) Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp Kahlua Liqueur

I wanted to create little mini wrapped package pieces. The pieces needed to be created from something food safe so out came the fondant, such as I did with my Butter Pat Tutorial.

Starting with simple square and rectangle shapes to mimic packages, I rolled out some of the fondant thin to make a criss-cross ribbon pattern on each package. I let the fondant dry overnight in a warm, dry area until hard.

Once the pieces were fully dry (they will feel like a hard candy), I attached them to the inside of a plastic salad container with a little water. When dry fondant is touched with water it becomes tacky and sticky all over again, in this case sticking to the inside of the container.

I then sprayed all of the pieces lightly with cooking spray to act as a food safe mold release.

When heating up the Remelt I was careful to try heating it for 15 second intervals. Depending on how much Remelt you are trying to melt and how hot the microwave being used is, the time needed to melt can vary dramatically.

From a 12 -15 inch distance I poured the Amazing Remelt in the mold box – the distance gives the Remelt a chance to release more bubbles before cooling. I used a small toothpick to drag any bubbles caught in the Amazing Remelt before it cooled to make sure to get a better casting.

Once the Amazing Remelt was cooled, no longer warm or sticky to the touch, I was able to carefully remove the fondant pieces.

If the fondant pieces are a wee bit gooey and soft it is because of a excess of cooking spray but it will not harm the Remelt. The fondant pieces can be left to dry and reharden if you would like to cast them again. Anytime you create a mold with your original made from fondant you will have to gently clean the molds to remove any sugar or oil left from the casting process and left to air dry on a cutting board.

Before I started on mixing up the fudge I placed my Remelt mold in the freezer, chilling the mold, allowing the Amazing Remelt to tolerate warm foods being placed into the mold without the Remelt mold melting. However the rather cold mold accelerated the fudge cooling, not allowing it to pick up detail as seen in the first row on the left. So with the second batch of fudge I put the Remelt mold in the refrigerator for less than 20 minutes, giving the Remelt some coolness but still allowing the fudge to be pushed completely into the mold to pick up the detail, as seen in the middle row of fudge.

I combined all of the ingredients listed under the fudge recipe in a nonstick pot and slowly stirred the ingredients over a medium heat with a heat tolerant spatula until everything was mixed together and the chocolate melted. *Be very careful not to overcook the chocolate, it can burn easily.

Once the chocolate is smooth I carefully and quickly transferred the chocolate to the refrigerator cooled molds. *Careful the chocolate will be very hot!

Using a spatula, carefully I pushed the chocolate into the molds; the spatula helped push any air bubbles out. I then placed the molds back into the refrigerator, letting the chocolate set.

Once the chocolate was solid it was easy to pop out of the molds, place each piece on a square of wax paper and place them into boxes. With the help of Amazing Remelt I was able to create a new twist to a family tradition!

AMAZING Choco Coins by DeeDee Catron

HELLOOOOOOO Everyone :)

DeeDee here today to share with you a super fun use for the brand new Amazing Remelt. Tooooooooo be totally honest I wasn't that intrigued by the product at first, but after the team started using it, experimenting and posting cool bits n pieces, my interest was peaked!

With Christmas right around the corner and a 4 year old always on my heels, I've been trying to think of fun exciting ways to spice up the every day Advent Calendar. Every kiddo loves chocolate, and this mommom loves collecting weird old useless coins, so why not fill some of our days with edible delicious coins from all over the world?

Start by gathering and prepping supplies!

Boil the coins to cleanse them of all dirts, oils and
contaminants that may be on them from their years of travel.

Dry thoroughly using a paper towel or cotton towel.

Secure the now clean coins inside a container with depth and no holes.
Keep in mind this will be the shape of your mold. I found a nice shallow
butter lid that not only keeps my mold shallow, but provided lots of space
for all the different coins I thought would be fun for Gabe to see.

Get out your Amazing Remelt.
Tip : Because Amazing Remelt can be used over and over AND used for
food and non food, mark the containers for specific uses to avoid contamination.

Remove Amazing Remelt from the package and
divide into manageable and appropriate sizes for your mold.

Obtain microwave safe dish and heat Amazing Remelt until warm and liquid.

Pour over pieces!

Allow the Amazing Remelt to cure and then demold all your pieces.

Follow instructions for melting chocolate and then fill mold. I used
a paint brush to apply the chocolate in a thin layer hoping to pick up all the details.
Then I spread the chocolate across deeper, filling in all the coins.

 (click photos enlarge!)

Let cool and here you have it! A ton of different little
chocolate coins ready to fill drawers in our Advent Calendar :)
Tip : Place your mold in the fridge to help the chocolate solidify.

Look at how well the Amazing Remelt picked up the embossing of each coin. So much detail, it will be so fun to share with Gabe all the different coins from all over, and then to eat them! And just think, if I had waited a little too long to mold or my Amazing Remelt hadn't been warm enough, I could have just put it back in the microwave and started over!

Thanks for joining me today -DeeDee
