#Cre8time Fun for #FOODIES - Day 3 of #PumpkinWeek #ACPthrowback

Greetings Amazing Crafters! Welcome to the day three of PUMPKIN WEEK... a week of projects and inspiration dedicated to all our favorite fall flavor! Today we are revisiting a FOODIE project from Amazing Creative Tracy Alden that is perfect for serving up at your upcoming holiday gatherings. Fresh rolls with Pumpkin spice butter anyone??!

http://amazingmoldputty.blogspot.com/2014/11/cre8time-play-in-kitchen-diy-fall.html

When you make flavored butter why just have it sitting in a bowl in a lump when you can create fun and festive molds for butter pats... chocolates or fondant for decorating cakes and cookies. Tracy created some festive fall shapes for molding her DIY butters using fresh herbs and spices from her garden and some help from Amazing Remelt - YES... it's FOOD SAFE :)

#Cre8time Fabulous Textured Fondant Cookies... by Michelle Galpern

Good afternoon Amazing Crafters – Michelle here with quick and fun tutorial to create fabulous textured fondant cookies using Amazing Mold Putty!

1. Roll out cookie dough and cut shapes with a cupcake cookie
cutter or stingray cutter (or any cutters you may have).

2. Bake and cool cookies completely according to the recipe.

3. Roll out your fondant and cut shapes to match
your cookies with your cookie cutters.

FUN TIP -- Use plastic wrap between your fondant and
cookie cutter to give a puffy rounded edge effect.

4. I pressed my fondant with an impression mat I made using Amazing Mold Putty
to give a beautiful texture and appearance to create a wow effect!

A TIP -- Fondant doesn't usually stick to Amazing Mold Putty,
but if it is a humid day and it's sticking a little dust with corn starch first.

5. Attach your fondant to the cookies with a light application of buttercream.

6. Lastly, I dusted with an edible luster dust to highlight
the impressions and bring my cookies to life.

No boring cookies, only fun and fabulous!

What impressive texture would
you give your creative confections???

Until next time, Keep life sweet!   ~ Michelle Galpern

Fondant Rope Molding with Amazing Mold Putty...
by Michelle Galpern

Believe it or not these pillows are made out of cake! I love making cakes that everyone thinks are a part of the party decorations! These cakes are hand carved and covered with edible fondant and adorned with more fondant accents created with Amazing Mold Putty silicone press molds for the decorations. I found a beautiful old piece of molding from an antique dealer to create the rope mold for this cake.

The rope mold is one of my favorites and so versatile as a border. It especially works with a pillow shape and it will cover your seams just as if you were sewing. Roll out your fondant into long snakes and press firmly into the mold. You may have to powder the mold with corn starch or powdered sugar if it’s a hot and humid day for a better release. The wonderful thing about a rope mold is your ends line up seamlessly and you put one right after another. Just “glue” your rope onto your edges with royal icing. It dries quickly and firmly for the heavy piece.

For the tassels I just roll out a fat snake and press the top into the rope mold to give some shape over the tassel. I cut and score fine lines with my dedicated food safe knife to create individual strings. Then I spread the ends to make it look like it has movement. I'll glue the tassels at the corners and the top rope to finish off the fabric effect.

The last step is to paint the rope with edible gold color mixed with vodka or clear vanilla. And there you have it!

What fun objects would you mold
to decorate your cake???

Until next time, Keep life sweet!   ~ Michelle Galpern

From Molten Sugar to Full Bloom – Molding a Gumpaste Water Lily with Michelle Galpern

Happy Friday – Michelle here with my first official post! I am so honored and excited to be a part of the new Amazing Crafting Products Creative Team. I have so many ideas and I can’t wait to get started. For today's project, I am sharing how to make this beautiful Gumpaste Water Lily.

My daughter, Sidney, started a cake decorating business and she asked me to help her with a few designs. I was thrilled to take my jewelry mold making ideas and apply them to the cake decorating world. Today I am excited to give you a peek into the world of Simi Cakes and Confections.

Amazing Mold Putty is a food grade silicone, which means I can use it to make chocolate, fondant, sugar, butter, ice, gelatin, gummy or any food in the mold. My daughter designed a beautiful water lily as a cake topper and asked if we could mold it to make one when we needed one. The mold creates petals, stamens, and support structures all made out of the sugar of your choice.

Using Amazing Mold Putty, I have created a two-part mold for the sphere, and a mold with two petals, a disc and two stamens.

Here’s how to make the water lily in gumpaste:

1. Press gumpaste into the petal forms on the Water Lily mold. You will need 15 petals-3 rows of 5, 20 stamens, 1 sphere and 1 disc.

2. To curve the petals remove them from the mold and place them in a curved apple crate.

3. Wrap the stamens and bend around the sphere center facing upwards. Cover the center sphere completely in stamens (approx 20).

4. To assemble the first row of petals glue the petals using royal icing. Place the petal under the support disc and hold to secure. It will only take a few seconds to dry. Repeat with 4 more petals.

5. For the second row cut 3/4" off of the bottom of 5 more petals (otherwise they will be to long).

6. Attach the second row just like the first, but at intervals in between the first row's petals. This row will attach to the side of the disc.

7. Attach the center of the water lily to the middle of the disc before attaching the third row.

8. Repeat the process of cutting and attaching 5 petals for the third row. Attach the third row to the top of the disk. Paint with an airbrush or petal/ luster dusts.

Here is a video of how to make this amazing water lily
in sugar, isomalt, gumpaste or fondant:
