#Cre8time Love for Nature... DIY Painted Rocks by Melissa Johnson

Hello everyone! Today I am sharing a fun and easy Valentine's project that you can even include the kids in (I did!).

We have had some beautiful weather here in Texas, so we decided to take this project outside. I had the kids gather up some rocks with flat surfaces from our yard and we washed them in some soapy water.

Next, we painted on our rocks using Mod Podge
to create hearts and other designs.

Then we added some very fine glitter over the Mod Podge.

After my daughter and I painted our designs, I mixed up some Amazing Clear Cast Resin to coat the top of the rocks and make the glitter really sparkle!

It was so much fun that my son even got involved!

We set them out to dry overnight on a plastic garbage bag.

And here are the finished painted rocks :)

The resin coating makes the glitter POP!

you made with your kids?

#Cre8time Upcyling Transformations... Ice Pack to #Sugarskull Blank by Brenda Burfeind

Hello crafties! Brenda here from Creativity is a State of Mind and I'm excited to show you something cute with today's post. I've been trying to get ready for Halloween and while digging through my Halloween stash, I found this ice pack I had received last year! I have no need for ice packs, so in my Halloween crafty stash is went. Well, when I found it this year I had a little lightbulb moment.

I had to freeze the ice pack because if I tried molding it while it was jelly I wasn't sure how it would form. After it was frozen, I created a mold of it by pressing it into a prepared batch of Amazing Mold Putty {CLICK HERE to view mixing/preparation}.

I created the piece using Amazing Casting Resin
{CLICK HERE to see mixing instructions}.

After about 5 minutes the piece was cured and I drew my design with a pencil right onto the resin. That's what I so love about these resin pieces also... you can draw and color directly onto them!

Then I had fun coloring it in with my markers of all sorts.

I think I will put a magnet on the backside and have a new embellishment for my refrigerator! I know I'm not that good on coloring but I plan to make a couple more of these blanks and giving them out on Halloween to the neighborhood trick-or-treaters with some candy of course!

I hope you've enjoyed my post today and I can't wait to show you something I have in the works for next time.
Thanks for stopping by and until next time, Brenda saying "see you soon"!

Take a #Cre8time Stroll in my New Resin Cave...
by Aimée Wheaton

Hi all! Aimée here with a little bit of a different inspiration post for this month. Susan had asked me to create a video of my new "Resin Cave". I stole this closet from my daughter who wasn't utilizing it. It's totally perfect for something like this... enjoy the video!

If you are having problems viewing video, please click here.

My apologies for any shaking – I tried my best. It's hard to keep a steady hand and I had to improvise the lighting because it truly is a closet. Do you have a resin cave?

Let's see your workspaces!

Feel free to stop by my FB page to see the latest with me.
To see more of my work please visit my new blog "Life Glitter Makeup"
and also at the Aimée Wheaton Art and Design website.

Till next time! Xoxo Aimée

Hello Amazing Crafters! It's September which means it's time for the kids to back-to-school. Even though I'm a big kid now – who can resist a new box of crayons!

But eventually they all end up this :(...

#Resin Rocks! AMAZING #DIY Jewelry by Featured Artist Katie Smith

I'm the Indie Crafts editor over at CraftGossip which means I'm always looking at new stylish tutorials to feature and keeping up with the trends. One of the trends that is pretty popular right now is tribal themed items. I decided to make a necklace inspired by that trend.

While I was up in Oklahoma earlier this month, we stopped at a tiny rock shop and I picked up a few of these 50 cent arrowheads. I decided to try making a mold using them, so that I could make some resin arrowheads!

I started by mixing up a bit of Amazing Mold Putty and mashing my real arrowheads down into it. I let it cure for 20ish minutes before pulling them out {CLICK HERE to view mixing/preparation}.

I love how quickly you can make molds with this stuff!

To make my resin arrowheads I first brushed a tiny bit

Then I whipped up a batch of Amazing Casting Resin and added a little bit of Alumilite Dye into it and poured it into my mold {CLICK HERE to view mixing/preparation}.

**TIP** I always have an extra small mold on hand as well in case I have any extra resin, I'll pour it in to there.

While the resin was still liquidy, I placed some jewelry eye pins into my arrowheads so that I could use them on a necklace (without drilling holes or gluing eye pins to them).

The Amazing Casting Resin cures pretty quick, so I pulled these 3 arrowheads out and made a half a dozen more in other colors.

You can see the original arrowheads on the left, and my resin arrowheads on the right. I love that I can make them in different colors!
