A Light Bulb Moment... AMAZING Mold Rubber Inspiration by DeeDee Catron

Hello folks! DeeDee here today with some inspiration using the brand new AMAZING MOLD RUBBER!

I have to admit, up until this stuff came out I avoided molding anything that I would want to have a crystal clear finish. The Amazing Mold Putty just wasn't giving me the finished surfaces I wanted for those types of things. Then... Alumilite introduced AMAZING MOLD RUBBER. A 2 part LIQUID silicone that creates the most amazing smooth molds, and in return... superbly smooth casts!

Insert my desire to mold LIGHT BULBS!

I've molded a few different light bulbs and am sharing a medium sized one today. This picture really shows the glossiness that can be achieved from using the Amazing Mold Rubber. I've cast it in both the Amazing Casting Resin and the Amazing Clear Cast Resin. It's so glossy and smooth, just like the original bulb.

Here's a shot of the bulb in use on a brand new layout:

It's been glued down and splatted with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist. I invite you to jump over to my own blog and see the whole layout including supplies. The bulb really sets the layout apart from others and is the perfect embellishment!

What super smooth glossy things can you think of
to mold with the brand new Amazing Mold Rubber?

Jewelry? Heirlooms? Metals? Plastics? GLASS? What might you mold and recast? Share here with me! And don't forget to stop by my blog to see the finished layout. ~ DeeDee♥

Amazing Mold Putty Did NOT Work! Not to FEAR... AMAZING MOLD RUBBER to the RESCUE!!

Wait. WHAT!?

That's RIGHT! There are times when Amazing Mold Putty ISN'T the solution, (I have a very HARD time finding them, but they happen.) So what do you do when it isn't what you need? Use Amazing Mold Rubber!! Below, you can see the DIFFERENCE that Amazing Mold Rubber made! The bottom claw was one I TRIED to create using Amazing Mold Putty, but the corners were too sharp, and I couldn't use the mold to totally surround the claw.

When I poured the resin in the mold, it was too shallow, and didn't work right.

HOWEVER, when I got to be one of the first to try the new Amazing MOLD RUBBER... I realized that because it is more flexible, I might be able to get a better mold from the original claw.

Here's the original.

Once I was able to create a mold that totally surrounded the claw, I was able to get the mold I had originally hoped to get!!

So what are you waiting for!? Get yourself some Amazing Mold Rubber today, and start creating totally 3-Dimensional pieces.

What dimensional items do YOU want cast
using the New Amazing Mold Rubber

Please share your projects in the comments below! If you create something inspired by my idea, please leave a comment with a link here, so I can come and visit to see! I would love for you to visit me at my "house" too!! Thank you so much for reading!! rachel

Bling a Kaleidoscope of COLOR to Your Martini Glass... AMAZING Inspiration from Tanya Ruffin

Hi, Tanya here to give you an inspiration piece (with a somewhat Louisiana theme) that actually made my mind spin with other ideas and interpretations of it!

I have a teaching arts studio in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and taught a mosaic stained glass class a few weeks ago. The ladies there thought the little shards of glass that remained at the end of the class were so pretty that they gathered them all up in one pile for me to use. Well, how could I waste what these dear ladies risked cuts and gashes gathering for me? I couldn't! But what to do?

A ha! I coated the base of a martini glass (that I had already painted a Mardi Gras mask on) with glue and sprinkled the glass pieces on. They were mostly tiny glittery looking pieces, so they went on well. When the glue dried I used Amazing Clear Cast Resin to seal the pieces.

Make sure to clean up any drip pieces using a craft knife...

and Voilà - I have a Mosaic Martini Glass!

I have since snipped the one jagged pieces on the right. Oddly, it isn't even sharp.

What are you going to sprinkle on the bottom
of a martini glass and seal with Amazing Clear Cast Resin?

I'd love to hear your creative spin on this - please leave a comment below with a link so I can check it out! Please visit my site to see more of my inspiring creations. Thanks! ~ Tanya
