Ring in the New Year with #Cre8time Recycling... by Maria Soto

Hi there! I decided to make a new bracelet to wear for the New Year's party. I had these empty duck tape rolls and decided to use one to make a quick and easy resin bangle.

Now sometimes when I paint, I keep napkins handy to clean the brushes or spills. I'm very clumsy so it happens a lot. As I was working, I noticed all the pretty colors so I decided to use these decoupage a bangle... but instead of using glue, I used the Amazing Clear Cast Resin to add the napkins I used to clean up my paints.

It was so easy, I cut the empty roll in half. I gathered my supplies and went on to mix a small amount of Amazing Clear Cast Resin

Amazing Clear Cast Resin has easy to follow instructions on the box or CLICK HERE to view mixing/preparation. I mixed a small amount of resin and applied it to the outside of the empty roll a little bit at a time using the mixing stick, then applied sections of painted paper towels.

Once I was done covering the outside with the colored paper towel, I added a bit more Amazing Clear Cast Resin over all the tissue and let it dry overnight. I used a mold to hold the resin covered bangle and to make sure it would catch any excess resin.

It's all done and ready to wear! Now you can either do the same process to the inside of the bangle –or just paint it and then seal it with more resin.

I'm so ready to wear this for our New Year's party. Amazing Clear Cast Resin is one of my favorite crafting products... it can be used in so many different ways – not only to be used in mold making.

How do you use resin?
Any fun and creative ways?

#Cre8time Painted Layers... #DIY Resin Bangle by Aimée Wheaton

You know that amazing artist that paints images on resin in layers? I was trying to emulate his style in a bangle and this is a far cry from his art. If you haven't seen it google resin and goldfish, it's amazing! Seriously, much respect to that artist.

My original project for this month was going to be a molded gourd, let's just say life got in the way and before I had a chance to get the gourd out of the mold it had decayed, that's what I get for trying to work ahead so excuse the simplicity of this post, I had to use a past mold of bangle as well as I ran out of Amazing Mold Rubber on the gourd. To see how to create a mold with Amazing Mold Rubber watch this video.

I had to do this in sessions over a few days so the resin would cure and I could paint different layers.

I mixed up my first layer or Amazing Clear Cast Resin and poured it into the mold. I let it sit overnight to cure completely. To see how to prepare resin please CLICK HERE.

After it cured overnight I chose some acrylic paints and various tools to make the marks on the resin. I chose a bamboo skewer, a fountain pen, and a paintbrush.

You can see blue, white, purple and yellow dots of acrylic paint on the first layer of resin. Next prepare another batch of Amazing Clear Cast Resin and pour over the top. This isn't a very deep mold so I only did 3 layers of resin. I let that cure again over night and then did a layer of green glitter and repeated the process of more resin.

Let that cure the rest of the day and
you end up with something like this!

I knew I would have extra resin like always so I applied the same technique to these little silver molds that were gifted to me. I may turn these into ornaments or magnets.

There you have it! :) Can you see the different layers I painted on?

Let's see what you can create with
Amazing Mold Rubber and

#Cre8time Play Recycled into Sparkling #Fashion Accessories... by Maria Soto

Hi there, this is Maria and today I hope to inspire you with a fun project. I love to see the possibilities in everything I do. One day I noticed I had several empty Duck Tape® rolls and decided to do something with them – some got taped together and turned them into pen holders, or scissor holders... but then I grabbed one and placed it on my arm like a bangle and thought why not! So I got my Amazing Mold Putty, my Westcott scissors and well, it was time to create something fun.

First I measured the empty roll. I didn't like it too wide or too firm so I trimmed the roll a bit, and removed some of the cardboard. Then it was ready for molding. I did like the uneven feel of the roll, but I thought it would be fun if I added Duck Tape® to it. So with no idea in mind, I began to add strips of black and purple duck tape all over the roll inside and out to add a lot of texture to the bangle. I prepared a batch of Amazing Mold Putty and pressed it around my original to create a mold {CLICK HERE to view mixing/preparation}. I couldn't wait to see how the mold putty would capture all the details from the duck tape – it only took a few minutes for the mold putty to set!

Once the mold was ready it was time to mix up the resin. I was so excited to see how this would look so I decided to use the Amazing Casting Resin first since it sets up pretty fast {CLICK HERE to view mixing/preparation}. The other reason I love working with this resin, is that it takes any type of paint really good – sure you can mix the colors into the resin, but I like to paint my castings as well.

I loved the texture of the bangle, the Amazing Casting Resin revealed all the detail captured from the duck tape in the mold! It feels good to make your own designs and having these amazing products to help you be as creative as you dare to be.

Now all this bangle needs is a bit of shine! Time to get some Amazing Clear Cast Resin and make it shiny like glass. This resin takes a while longer to set depending on the amount you use and the heat/humidity {CLICK HERE to view mixing/preparation}.

All I did was use the mixing stick to spread some resin over the cured and painted bangle... then I thought it would be fun to add a few tiny glass beads and some nail colored foil pieces to add more color. The resin serves both as a sealer and glue – everything I added to this jewelry piece will never fall off. Resin is the best adhesive and I love using this on almost everything I create.

Since I had quite a bit of resin left, I went ahead and poured a new bangle, this time I added the colored foil pieces into the resin, left it to cure overnight. Her you can see both, the bangle made using Amazing Casting Resin and the one made using Amazing Clear Cast Resin – both are lovely and look so different.

Let's not forget the bracelet I made using the recycled part of the duck tape roll with the black and purple Duck Tape®... I decided to add some resin over the duck tape. Now I have three new bangles, created by me. Unique jewelry is the best, especially when you can recycle old into new.

What would you recycle into fabulous jewels?

I hope to have inspired you to look around and see what items you can recycle into something new, something fun with Amazing Casting Products.

The AMAZING Case of a Glowing Bangle...
by Brenda Burfeind

Welcome to Mold Rubber Monday with me, Brenda from Creativity is a State of Mind. I'm so excited to show you today's project! Now you've probably seen some variations of bangles the different designers have made. Just type bangle or bracelet in the search bar on the top of the page and you can look back on ALL the awesome projects the designers have made. Well, today I am showing off my special bangle.

I started out with an ordinary plastic bangle and molded it using Amazing Mold Rubber. You can go HERE and watch a video on mixing and preparation. Depending on the climate/humidity where you live the set up process may vary. It's super cold in my craft room and with this mold rubber project it only took about 4 hours to set up.

After I demolded the silver bangle, I mixed up some Amazing Clear Cast Resin because I will be embedding some fun stuff in the bangle. You can go HERE and see the mixing process for the resin. I did not let my resin sit long enough for all the bubbles to dissipate. I wanted a bubbly effect. If you want your bracelet to be TOTALLY clear, let your resin sit for a while and then you can even use a heat gun to POP the bubbles.

Only filling the mold half full with the Amazing Clear Cast Resin, I let that set up for about an hour. Since I will be embedding some things into the bangle I do not want them to sink or float. By letting the resin set up for a bit it allows you to place beads or rhinestones (in my case, both) nicely into your bangle.

After I placed the Airsoft bbs (these are round bbs for an airsoft gun – you will see why I used these later in the tutorial) and rhinestones into the mold I added some more Amazing Clear Cast Resin and filled it to the top. I let this cure for 12 hours.

Once it was totally cured I demolded the bangle and it looked like this.

You can see the tiny bubbles which just gives it a different effect.

Then I sanded the bottom edge of the bangle with some ordinary sand paper and applied another coat of Amazing Clear Cast Resin.

The rhinestones did shift a bit, but I'm okay with that. I do totally love this look.

Here is the picture of the bracelet with the bbs I used.. But wait ... remember I told you I used Airsoft bbs and you probably asked yourself, WHY? Well these are special bbs and now for the reveal!

They GLOW IN THE DARK! I know – I'm obsessed with glow in the dark things. I couldn't get enough light to photograph just the bangle with the bbs, but you can see here that they glow!

Next time I think I'll add more bbs and not any rhinestones!

I hope you've enjoyed my tutorial using Amazing Mold Rubber! Please leave me a comment and tell me what you would embed in your special bangle!

Until next time, Brenda signing off!

Decopatch Tissue styles this DIY Desigual Bangle Knockoff for Mold Rubber Monday

Good evening Amazing Crafters! Susan here for another Mold Rubber Monday. Today I am sharing a bangle inspired by some acrylic bangles I saw in the mall using the gorgeous Decopatch tissue from Frog Dog Studio April Mixed Media Kit – our partner in crafting. I've created a bangle mold using Amazing Mold Rubber... and haven't had a chance to use it yet. This was the perfect project - since I was not paying $18 for the bangles at the mall when I can do it myself.

While on a rare excursion to the mall with other half - there was a new stylish store that I've never seen, so I persuaded my other half to run in. They had all sorts of colorful clothes and accessories... and I spied these bangles – the same exact colors and nearly the same pattern of the Decopatch Tissue in the FDS kit. The cost of one of these bangles {$18} is about the cost of an entire box of Amazing Clear Cast Resin; which would produce at least a dozen handmade bangles if not more. Please scroll all the way to the end of the post for items included in the Frog Dog Studio April Mixed Media Kit and April Add-On Kit:

Amazing Mold Rubber comes in 2 parts, Rubber Base and the Catalyst. I will be creating a large mold so I am mixing up the entire container. This mold took about 1 1/2 containers due to the size required to completely cover the bangle over a two pour process. I always mix the entire container and prepare several molds simultaneously. Amazing Mold Rubber will completely fuse to itself, so if you run out mid-pour, you can let it cure and fill the rest with another batch later.

To mix the entire container of Amazing Mold Rubber - its so simple. Peel back the protective seal on the Rubber Base and then pour the entire bottle of Catalyst into the rubber base. Stir gently and completely until there is no swirling and the catalyst is completely incorporated into the rubber base. The color will be a light bubble gum pink. I use a plastic knife from take out to stir – as the back edge is flat which can be used to scrape the edges completely when mixing.

I used a pyrex bowl as my mold box - it was the perfect shape. I hot glued a wooden lid from a liquor bottle in the center of the bowl, centered the bangle around it, and poured the mold rubber into the center first, then around the outside of the bangle. The photos reflect the mold poured halfway. There was an airbubble trapped on top of the wooden lid, so I peeled it away – and resulted in having to trim more away than anticipated. No worries... the next pour will fill it in.

My reasoning for filling only halfway was because this was how I resolved not gluing the bangle to the bowl to keep it in place. I did hang around for about 45 minutes to see if the bangle shifted while the mold rubber began to harden, but it did not. YAY! When cured I completely covered with a second batch of mold rubber filling 1/4" over the items.

After the second pour, I let the Amazing Mold Rubber cure for a couple days before attempting to remove because it's a fairly thick mold in a glass bowl. I gently heated the bottom of the bowl with my heat gun to loosen the glue; ran a knife around the outer edge of the bowl and twist – a mold is born! Now to free my items - another occasion I could have used an extra set of hands. Amazing Mold Rubber is so flexible that I was able to bend the sides back and peel the bangle out.

The edge of the bangle is completely flush with the top of the mold so I shouldn't have to do any sanding or repair after casting in resin. I think the wooden lid will make a nice cabochon.

My original bangle shape and wooden lid along with mold.

I gathered my Amazing Clear Cast Resin, and items from the April Frog Dog Studio Kit. The Jaquard Pinata Manilla Black Ink is from the March FDS kit. I used this to prepare a separate matching bangle using a different process – I will be sharing this very soon. For this bangle I trimmed sections of Decopatch Tissue to 7/8" strips the width of my bangle mold.

I prepared a small batch of Amazing Clear Cast Resin mixing equal amounts of parts "A" and "B" {click here to view preparation}.  I stirred slowly to combine completely to minimize air bubbles. I set aside to let rest to thicken up a bit while I selected mica fragments and vintage watch parts to place onto the resin coated paper. After about 15 minutes, I painted a thin layer of resin onto the tissue using a foam brush. I'm working on freezer paper - which has a non-stick surface.

After about 5-10 minutes, I gently peeled up the strips of resin painted tissue, turned over and painted the other side {miraculously... I had painted the backsides first - LOL}. I painted this side a little thicker to accept the mica fragments and watch parts. I set these aside to cure overnight.

The Decopatch tissue has a lovely translucency from the light clear cast resin coating – and now it's more durable for placing into my bangle mold. While the clear cast was still tacky, I dropped on some vintage watch parts and Stampendous Mica Flakes.

Now the tricky part {I could have used four hands for this}... placing the tissue resin paper into the mold. I gently pulled open a section and pressed the tissue into the mold, rotated and positioned more, and repeated until it was inserted all the way around. Then I made slight adjustments to make sure it was all flat and the two ends met and I measured perfect, there was about an 1/8" overlap.

With my batch of Amazing Clear Cast Resin prepared, I gently spread open a section of the mold and poured the resin in. This was a messy proposition and unfortunately was unable to photograph as this process ended up with both hands a sticky mess. I rotated around and I filled the resin completely, removed the excess resin on the top of the mold and set aside to cure.

Needless to say - I didn't anticipate that the way this mold totally encloses the resin that it might take longer to cure... so the delay of the post was waiting all day to pop it out. I didn't want to impress fingerprints into the pristine surface by trying to pull it out if it is still soft. Patience pays!!! I have one more strip prepared and ready to pour another, too! I think this is a success and will look nice layered with a couple different types of bangles or could stand alone as a statement piece.

How will you customize your
