#Cre8time Christmas at the Cabin... by Lyn Gill

Hello everyone! Lyn Gill here again with another fun project... a Christmas Cabin! It's a little electric tea light holder that I created for the Holidays!

I created the main pieces from Super Sculpey, just simple
shapes kind of like those from a paper doll house.

Then I molded them with Amazing Mold Putty... at this point I was super excited about the outcome!

I mixed Amazing Casting Resin with some Alumilite Dye in Native American Fleshtone – since I wanted a more reddish brown color, and let it cure in the molds. After de-molding, I brushed on a little more of the dye to give it the true look of wood. I then lined the back of the window with painters tape and poured a little bit of Amazing Clear Cast Resin tinted with yellow Alumilite Dye and let it set up overnight. For the roof pieces,  I left the white color of the Amazing Casting Resin

I added some of the details – a tree, shrub, wreath, door and window shutters using the Super Sculpey. The snow texture on the base is created from Super Sculpey and acrylic paint as well.

So fun and festive! It truly shines a little light on the Holidays!

What holiday decor will you create
using Amazing Casting Products?

Well thank you so much for stopping by... Till Next Time! Lyn

#Cre8time Finishing Touches... AMAZING Inspiration by Lara Hjorthoy

Hey Friends! Lara here to share a little inspiration on how I'm using Amazing Clear Cast Resin today! I'm putting the finishing touches on my Mars Attacks, Alien lady – while I work on creating my second sculpt for Penumbra Gallery's, movie-themed extravaganza this March... in Portugal! I'm adding eyelashes and high gloss to her eyes!

I've added the Clear Cast resin to her eyes. I prepared a small batch and let it sit for a bit to get thicker, then dolloped a smidge into her eyes... and let that sit and cure. Now her eyes are glistening and bright – which is lovely for an Alien about to take part in destroying the world!

What finishing touches do you

Stay Inspired Friends! ~ Lara

BYOB to a #Cre8time Happy Hour.... by Tracy Alden

Hello! Tracy here with another Amazing Casting Products tutorial! I will let you in on a secret, I have a bit of a collecting miniatures addiction. I love searching for all kinds of miniatures and typically I will buy them without even having a miniature scene or project in mind. This happened with an adorable collection of miniature cocktail cups I found. With Summer in full swing I got to thinking about making mini versions of the beautiful, bright and tasty drinks that are a great way to relax in the summer.

Supplies:
  • Amazing Clear Cast Resin
  • Alumilite Dyes
  • 1/12th scale Miniature cocktail glasses
  • Polymer Clay
  • 21 gauge wire in gold and silver tones
  • Red Seed Beads
  • Wirecutters
  • Toothpicks
  • Stir Sticks
  • Craft scissors
  • Tweezers
  • Needle nose pliers and earring wires (only needed if you plan to make the miniatures into earrings)
  • Ultra Fine White Glitter for "salt" and Micro Fine Shell White Glitter for "sugar" on the cups
  • Beacon Gem-Tac Permanent Glue

With many of the miniature sets and collections available, you will find they are often made of plastic, resin or porcelain. In this case the set was made out of plastic and a few of the cups just needed a quick sanding to remove any raw or uneven edges. I then carefully cleaned them with soap and water and left them to dry.

Resin drips are an unavoidable aspect of creating resin art. However I rarely throw those cured drips away, as they can always be used as filler for other projects or, in this case resin ice cubes! By picking the thinnest and longest resin drips I cut them up into tiny little bits and shards, perfect for emulating ice cubes.

By using the miniature martini glass for size comparison I made sure all of the resin was cut small enough and to size for the cocktail glasses.

To create the look of sugar on the rims of the glasses, I put a thin bead of Beacon Gem-Tac Permanent Glue and then carefully pushed the cup into a pile of Micro Fine Shell White Glitter. To give the look of salt on the margarita glass I once again applied glue and this time applied Ultra Fine White Glitter in the same manner.

Using polymer clay I created tiny lime and pineapple wedges and gently pushed them onto small lengths of 21 gauge wire and baked them per manufacturer instructions. Once they were cool I added some small red seed beads onto a few of the wire elements. These would become the toothpicks with fruit embellishments commonly seen as decoration in mixed drinks.

I mixed up a small portion of Amazing Clear Cast Resin, making sure to slowly stir to reduce air bubbles and let it sit for 5 minutes. Using toothpicks I put a tiny drop of Alumilite Dye into a small mixing cup. Starting from the left I had my untinted resin, a cup with 1 drop yellow + 1 drop brown, a cup with 1 yellow drop, a cup with 2 drops blue and a cup with 2 drops red. These were my base colors that I used mix with each other or add to my untinted resin to create the look of the drinks.

Each cup I would fill halfway with tinted resin by using that oh so expensive tool, the toothpick. If I felt the drink needed some ice cubes I would carefully add some of the resin ice cubes I created earlier and then top with more tinted resin. To create the illusion of a drink with carbonation I would let the resin rest until it reached the consistency of thick syrup, then stir the resin rapidly and pour it into the cup. I would then carefully place a small wire with fruit elements into to the tinted resin and let cure.

A wide assortment of drinks was easy to create by
just mixing different tinted resins together!

With a miniature Happy Hour at your fingertips don't forget
a nice cup of green tea for the designated driver!

#Cre8time Happy Accidents... DIY Butterfly Hairclip by Brenda Burfeind

Good day! Brenda here from Creativity is a State of Mind with a tutorial how to use your resin paper to create a butterfly hairclip. The paper I am going to use today was created by accident, literally!

My box of resin paper.

So what happened... I was going to pour a mold using Amazing Casting Resin and the Violet Alumilite Dye that I had mixed up. While picking up my measuring cup, I knocked it over instead and my resin spilled everywhere. Thank goodness I keep paper towels within arms reach when pouring molds.

I quickly wiped it up and was about to throw the paper towel away when I realized it may come in handy. I laid it out on my teflon sheet (if you don't have one you can also use a white plastic garbage bag) as flat as possible and within 10 minutes it had set up nicely. I tried to make sure that there weren't too many thick areas so that it would still be somewhat pliable and easy to cut.

Then I wondered if my new Stampin' Up butterfly die would work on it?

I located an area of the paper towel with most of the purple, cut around the butterfly and ran it through the Cuttlebug! Perfection!!!

Now the paper towel is pliable and the die cut it out AMAZINGLY! Do you see the awesome texture the paper towel gave the butterfly?

I had just enough of the purple resin area
so that I was able to cut the butterfly twice!

I glued the edges and pinched it together to create a 3D effect.
Kind of like a cage.

I also used a Sharpie to draw in the butterfly body and my E6000®
was the perfect way to attach the butterfly to the hair clip.

I love happy crafty accidents!

:)

My granddaughter has the perfect hair for this awesome butterfly clip.

What would you create
with resin paper?

Thank you for stopping by today and I would love to hear from you. Leave me a comment and tell me what you would create using your Amazing Resin paper!

Until next time, ~ Brenda
