Fashion meets #Cre8time... Quick and Easy Earrings with Aimée Wheaton

Ever have those days where you can't find earrings that go right with your outfit? Maybe you envision a certain look but can't find exactly what you're looking for. Well here is a super quick earring project that you can finish in under 30 minutes... depending how detailed you get.

I bought these two bezels that were probably supposed to be for pendants but I love BIG earrings :)

I decided to try a technique I haven't tried yet on them just to see how they turned out.

Here is what you'll need:
  • Amazing Casting Resin - this cures in under 10 minutes usually and is white when it's cured.
  • Alumilite Dye color of choice - I chose violet.
  • 2 Earring bezels
  • Glitter
  • Earring wires
  • Jump rings
  • Beads
  • Gloves
  • Popsicle stick
  • Measuring cups
  • Jewelry making tools

Super easy – all it takes is some imagination for a lot of WOW!!

Mix the Amazing Casting Resin, drop a drop of Alumilite Dye in, swirl around and add the glitter and beads. When cured, I turned them into earrings!

Easy!

Peasy!

#Cre8time Ring-a-Ding-Thing by Aimée Wheaton

Hello there!! This month I tried my hand again with Amazing Mold Rubber. This is my back up project because I messed up the mold box for the first one. I intend to redo it again possibly next month for you to see. This sweet little ring-a-ding-thing was made by molding a cute little glass leaf dish Susan bought me on a trek up to Orlando and a visit to Adjectives Market, a favorite of ours.

I don't have a cute ring dish and I thought of using the glass dish – but then again I have a toddler and an 8 year old who get into my things and thought it would be better to have something more durable. So glad I know how to use these AMAZING products!! Bring on the Amazing Mold Rubber. One of the reasons I love Mold Rubber is because it gives you great detail and will replicate the smoothest surface... especially using glass.

I forgot to take a before photo of me mixing the mold rubber and pouring it into the prepared mold box, but you can see how it's done HERE:

The original glass bowl on the left, and the bottom grooves didn't show up in the mold as I mounted that area in my mold box. I may mold it again on the opposite side and compare the two molds. You can see here how the mold is formed. The scalloped detail along the sides and edges were captured.

I decided I wanted to have a pop of purple so I added 5 drops of the Alumilite Violet Dye into Part "A" of Amazing Casting Resin and mixed well. It's such a gorgeous color.

Next I slowly poured Part "B" into this yellow cup,
mixed it all up and poured into the mold.

As always I make too much resin – so I used this extra mold
to pour the excess resin so I didn't waste it.

After I pulled the resin out I had this smooth purple container! I love it!! I'm going to keep this as is but thought of other ways to use it.

Mixed Media Frame: You could take a vintage photo and glue it in with some cute words, glitter and extra little trinkets then go back over it with some Amazing Clear Cast Resin to seal it up. Drill a hole and you have a custom little piece or ornament - hey that gives me an idea for Part B on this project, stay tuned!!
Seasonal Decor: Make little Fall place settings for Thanksgiving! Use a red/yellow/brown/ or orange dye and place a card on each one.

This is perfect for me!

Or to store little trinkets, buttons.

I hope you enjoyed this project!! I think I'll be making a few more!!
The options are endless!!

Mulberry Paper Transformed... to AMAZING Mulberry Paper by Brenda Lee Burfeind

Brenda here with a quick inspirational post using Mulberry Paper. I used to make a lot of cards and I scrapbooked like crazy but just haven't had the time to do much of anything except play with my Amazing Crafting Products. I really needed to get a card done and while working on it the other day, I accidentally spilled some resin (don't ask why I had that on my table while working with paper) onto some scrapbooking paper and the effect was super cool. I love using Mulberry paper on my cards and scrapbook layouts, but "painting" a bit of Amazing Clear Cast Resin onto both sides of it gives it a whole new dimension.

Here are just a few examples of the difference using Amazing Clear Cast Resin and also adding some Alumlite Violet Dye to one piece:

It almost turned transparent. LOVE it!

I even tried it on a piece of Papertowel with the Alumlite Violet Dye.
Love how it stayed 3-D.

I then used my punch to cut some flowers to add to my card.

How would you use paper you've refinished

I hope you've enjoyed my inspiration post today. If you would like to see more of my creations, please hop over to Creativity is a State of Mind. Until next time, have a great day! ~ Brenda Lee Burfeind

Read my LIPS... It's Mold Rubber Monday!!! AMAZING Fabric Candy Dish Tutorial by Isabel Villarreal

One of the most exciting things about fabric is that it can be used for so many things; and with the help of Amazing Crafting Products, the versatility of fabric has absolutely no limits. I decided to take fabric to a place I'd never been and turn it into a candy dish.

I chose a plain white fabric so that I could decorate the finished piece if I decided. After selecting the shape of the bowl, I coated the entire inside and lip of the bowl with Alumilite Mold Release so that the fabric could be easily removed from the plastic bowl after drying. The fabric should be pressed down into the bottom of the bowl - I left extra fabric around the outside since it could be trimmed away later.

After mixing equal parts "A" & "B" of Amazing Clear Cast Resin, I used a foam brush to spread the resin over the fabric inside the bowl, starting from the bottom and pulling the brush up along the sides. Rubber gloves come in handy to shape the coated fabric and get it to drape nicely. The first coat of Amazing Clear Cast Resin was allowed to dry about 2 hours before I added another coat with a sprinkle of Alumilite Pearlescent Metallic Powder to give it a little sparkle. The resin will run down to the bottom, but that's okay because it will make a nice thick base after drying. I used a total of 4 coats on the inside of the bowl, waiting about 2 hours between each coat. After the final coat was dry, the coated fabric was easily removed from the bowl.

The excess fabric can be cut away using a sturdy pair of scissors. At this stage, the "sides" of my bowl were still a bit soft, so I shaped the edges into a soft wave along the edge. When cutting the fabric it turned out that the edges were uneven but it gave me an idea so I left them that way. It was time for the a coat on the outside of the bowl to give it a smooth finished look. Before coating the outside I stacked up a few plastic cups and rested the overturned piece so that it floated above my work surface. This allows excess resin to drip off without pooling along the edge of the bowl.

While the clear coat was drying (it would have to dry overnight), I started working on some feet for my dish. I'd been dying to do something Dali inspired and this miniature perfume sample would make the perfect platform on which to base my fabric candy dish. I new I wanted the feet to be 3 dimensional so of course, there was no doubt – I would use Amazing Mold Rubber to get a perfect 3D copy with no unsightly seam. I found a small container and glued my original piece at the bottom to keep it from floating or moving and went to work mixing up some Amazing Mold Rubber. Mixing ratio is 10 parts Base to 1 part Catalyst and can be measured by weight to be sure that it sets perfectly. After mixing the rubber, I poured it into my container, making sure to cover the entire piece. It turned out that my container wasn't quite deep enough, so I added height to the sides by placing tape around the entire lip of the container and then added more Amazing Mold Rubber.

It took about 8 hours for the Amazing Mold Rubber to feel firm to the touch. I left it for another 4 hours before handling it just to be sure that it was completely set. Absolutely beautiful results! Amazing Mold Rubber is so incredibly easy to use when making a 3D object, since it begins in a liquid form to completely surround the object you're molding, allowing you to get unbelievable detail. Once the mold was cured, I simply mixed up equal parts "A" & "B" of Amazing Casting Resin with a few drops of Alumilite Violet Dye to get a gorgeous Purple color to fill my new mold. Within 10 minutes each of my Dali lips were set and ready to attach to my dish.

Now that the feet were ready the next step was to decorate. With its uneven edges it sort of looked as if the bowl was melting, so I went along with that in my decorating. I mixed up a little more Purple resin and carefully dripped it along the lip of the dish using a wood mixing stick. I actually started off being careful about drip placement but then decided to just go with it and let the resin drip as it wanted. Since Amazing Casting Resin sets so quickly, I had to work fast and mix only small batches so there wouldn't be much waste. Then came the crystals along the bottom of the dish – I secured these in place with a tiny dot of Amazing Clear Cast Resin

** A TIP ** If you let the Amazing Clear Cast Resin sit for about 20 minutes it will start
to thicken and that makes it easier to use as an adhesive for setting stones or crystals.

Since I don't believe there is ever enough glitter or flash I added some stones along the 4 edges and also on the feet. The Dali theme was a success. I just love the way this piece turned out and I'm thrilled with the castings I got with Amazing Mold Rubber.

I had no real idea where I was going with this when I started and instead just made decisions as I went along and worked with mistakes as they happened (yes, they definitely happened!) and I just had fun with it.

What fun places can Amazing Mold Rubber take you?

I'd love to see what you create! Please upload and share your creations to the NEW

Tinted Resin Halloween Candle Holder... Fun and AMAZING Holiday Inspiration from Tanya Ruffin

Bonjour from Louisiana! Tanya here with a really fun and beautiful spin on resin. I have an early Halloween party every year and try to make a lot of decorations (so I am starting now). I love "elegant" Halloween decorations, not so much the cutesy pumpkins and ghosts, so I tried my hand at an elegant purple tinted resin Halloween candle holder.

I love it! It glows so much better than the camera picks up.

I had everything on hand, but if you don't, all you need a skull ice cube tray (dollar store), Amazing Clear Cast Resin, Alumilite Violet Dye, Alumilite Fluorescent (Flo) Orange Dye, glass candle holder (dollar store), glue gun and a candle!

The fluorescent is really fluorescent! But in a darkly lit room,
it is just bright enough to give a great glow!

I mixed up the Amazing Clear Cast Resin and mixed in about 10 drops of the Alumilite Violet Dye. With a cheap craft paint brush, I brushed the resin over the entire surface of the candle holder. I used a tall glass candle to hold the candle holder upside down to allow for dripping. I watched it closely for the first hour, cleaning up spills and gathering up excess resin that was collecting around the edge.

Don't you just love the purple resin over the clear glass?

I allowed it to sit overnight and then filed off the drips that had hardened.

Once that was completed... to be honest I loved the purple tint so much I almost didn't put the skulls on. BUT, this was a Halloween candle holder so I went ahead and hot glued the skulls around the glass.

**A TIP** - place a rubber band around the glass to get a base line
to line up your skulls. Then glue away.

This came out so awesome... I am going to make more and more and more.

What will you tint with your

HOOT - HOOT! Add some Character to your Message Board... AMAZING Inspiration by Michelle Frae Cummings

Have you ever wished that you had something more exciting for push pins? Some thing just as pretty to look at as the art you are pinning? I did! I love owls and was bored with my plain flat push pins.

So I made up some push pins from some small vintage owl keepsakes.

Small vintage owls like these bells and figurines work nicely.

I used Amazing Mold PuttyAmazing Casting Resin, and the new Violet, fluorescent green and fluorescent orange Alumilite Dyes. From start to finish, making these owl push pins took no more than 30 minutes! After the resin owls were cured, I simply glued the flat part of the push pins onto the backs of the owls with E-6000.

So easy!

How would you customize your pushpins

Ohhh the Possibilities with these Amazing Colors... AMAZING Inspiration from Brenda Burfeind

Brenda here again and I cannot tell you how excited I am about the NEW colors that Amazing Crafting Products just came out with. I got to play for a little while yesterday and I can honestly say I am in LOVE. I didn't get to test ALL the new colors, but love the outcome of what I did try. My all time favorite color is Purple and they just came out with an amazing Violet, SO beautiful. They also came out with 4 neon colors:

I know I will be creating something for my son
with the Fluorescent Green, his favorite color.

But, here is just a tiny sampling of what's to come.

1. Fluorescent Green (Flo Green) domino cast with Amazing Clear Cast Resin. It's not quite cured yet as it does take about 24 hours, but can you just see the potential in NEON?

2. Fluorescent Green (Flo Green) ornate piece cast with Amazing Casting Resin (see the color difference by using clear cast vs resin since that is a white based product?) The color possibilities are endless.

4. Fluorescent Orange (Flo Orange) cast with Amazing Casting Resin. I can't wait to try it with the Amazing Clear Cast Resin to bring out that NEON effect.

5. Fluorescent Orange (Flo Orange) cast with Amazing Casting Resin and highlighted with gold Rub 'n Buff®, (there again, bringing new color to an existing color).

6. Alumilite Violet Dye leaf cast with Amazing Casting Resin and washed with white pearl acrylic paint with more color highlighted.

So you can see how you can achieve SO many different colors using either the Amazing Casting Resin or the Amazing Clear Cast Resin

I hope I've given you a little look into how colors can be changed up with a bit of creativity and a bit of imagination.
Thank you for joining me today and remember... "Creativity is a State of Mind". ~ Brenda
