Lost and Found #Cre8time Jewelry by Aimée Wheaton

Ever have a favorite pair of earrings and then you lose one? Yeah that's what happened with this pair of earrings, they were my favorite and I happened to lose one while I was out on a weekend getaway with the hubby. I was so bummed, then I remembered I had a secret ingredient to recreate them!

I molded this earring and it made the perfect pair
of earrings, not exactly the same but very close!

Of course to mold it you mix equal parts of Part "A" and "B"
of the putty and then form it around the item. See how it works here.

Look how amazing the mold turned out! Here it is brushed with our silver Alumilite Metallic Powder! When the resin cures it will be attached to the final product. I poured Amazing Casting Resin after mixed into the mold and let it cure. I did this two times. See how to do it here.

This is the finished product! I sanded the edges
for a clean finish to clean them up a bit.

Then to make the details stand out I brushed
Jet Black StazOn Ink onto the surface.

Add a few jump rings and ear wires and you're good to go!! These are even lighter than the original pair! Amazing Mold Putty to the rescue!!!

Do you keep your broken jewelry
parts or orphaned pieces?

Fabulous Faux Enamel Feather Earrings with
Guest Designer Brenda Burfeind

Good day! Brenda here and I want thank Susan for inviting me back to show off some projects I've been making since leaving the Amazing Mold Putty Design Team. I was one of the original designers for Amazing Crafting Products and loved every minute of it.

Since leaving the team, I still continued to use Amazing Crafting Products because these products are ultimately the best. I love the fact that I can create almost anything I want. The molding putty is my all time favorite and of course I love using the Amazing Casting Resin and the Amazing Clear Cast Resin to create those embellishments.

So today I wanted to create some feather earrings that I had seen on Pinterest a while back. I started out with some Creative Paperclay®. I cut the clay in a oval type shape and using a bamboo skewer I added some lines to create those feather like looks. Press your bamboo skewer into the clay to make those veins. It really has great dimension. Once the piece is dry, you can use a nail file to smooth out the edges if you want or need to.

Once the piece dried I then prepared the feather to be encased in Amazing Mold Putty to create the mold. I added some vaseline to the paperclay "feather" as a release to make sure it would not stick to the mold putty. Better safe than sorry I always say.

I took two equal parts of the mold putty and blended them making sure there were no white streaks showing. You have a couple of minutes to get it good and blended. Then I pressed the clay feather piece into the mold putty and let it sit for about 10 minutes. I usually press my fingers slightly into the edge of the mold to make sure it's really good and hard and then I slowly pulled the clay piece out of the mold. Be very careful as the clay piece could break when taking it out of the mold. I will use the clay piece in a scrapbook layout or maybe for embellishing a card.

I created the earrings with the Amazing Casting Resin and Gold Alumilite Metallic Powder. Add your Alumilite powder to your part "A" and mix well. Then pour your part "B" into your part "A" and mix again. You only have a few minutes before it wants to set up, so make sure you do this quickly.

After the pieces were cast, I added some black rub and buff to tone down the gold. I also sealed the pieces with some Sakura 3-D Crystal Lacquer and placed a few iridescent pearls to the "feathers". Now I have two perfectly matched feathers. I used my Crop-A-Dile to create the holes for the earring wires, it goes through the resin piece very easy. I added a couple of jump rings and the earring wires and now I have a great pair of earrings.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you've enjoyed my feather earrings tutorial and I cannot wait to share my next project! You can always find me here to see what else I create.  ~ Brenda Burfeind

Textured Heart Pin

Hi Everyone!
Michelle here with a fun idea you can make for Valentines Day or just because you love hearts!
I started with a vintage church votive candle holder because I liked the texture on the outside. Then I mixed equal amounts of white and yellow Amazing Mold Putty until one uniform color of yellow.
I wrapped the putty around the glass until I was sure all the bumps were covered.
After about 15 minutes the putty was ready to be removed.
Next I used a black pen to draw a heart outline. Instead of cutting out the heart on the pen line, I cut around it. More Amazing Mold Putty was used to make a coil that I formed on that pen line. I pressed the putty on the outside and used my fingers to keep the putty true to the heart shape. Before it had a chance to set, I used a small embossing tool to pull the  putty out of the textured parts of the mold where I wanted a clean look.
I pored equal amounts of the Amazing Casting Resin into the measuring cups provided.
Before mixing, I added 4 drops of Red Alumilite Dye to resin "A".
I used a small dry paint brush to add a little bit of Silver Alumilite Metallic Powder to the inside walls of the set mold. Next I mixed the resin together and poured it carefully into the mold. Some of the silver powder rose to the top, but this was OK. I saved just a bit of the resin in the cup. When the resin was almost completely hard (about 10 minutes), I added a bit of the leftover resin to the back of the heart with a tooth pick. Then I placed a pin backing in that resin and added some more with the toothpick, almost making a 'built in adhesive'!
After the resin finished curing, I popped it out and trimmed any rough edges with non stick scissors. I used a baby wipe to remove some stray powder from the face of the heart and sealed the whole heart with a glaze medium.
Thanks for coming by, I hope you liked my Textured Heart Pin!

Medieval Barter - School Project

Medieval Barter - School Project

Well I found out how great Amazing Mold Putty is for school projects this past week.
And will be using it again this weekend for another one.
I find so many uses that I never thought of before especially now that I have their silver powder.

My son was studying medieval times in his 6th grade Social Studies class.
They had to come up with 3 items to barter with and he had good ideas but was having trouble putting them into place such as how to make the items and such.
He even picked up premade items and the whole assignment was they had to be handmade.
I emailed asking if we could use molds and resin and she said that even though resin may have not been during that time she is sure they made molds out of soap and candles so we went to work.

Since it was his project I had him help out as much as possible.

He decided on two keys and a horse shoe.
I had two keys from my scrapbook stuff so I decided he could make a mold of them even though I had done it myself before. I wanted to show him how to do it all himself and how easy it was. And I bought a cheap set of "cowboy" ornaments that had a mini horseshoe that we used for the third item/mold.

Supplies:
Amazing Mold Putty
1. He mixed equal amounts of the yellow with the white putty and then pressed the shapes into them.
2. Then let the molds sit for about 30 minutes and dusted the molds with silver metallic allumilite powder. He used a really cheap paint brush to do that.
(I thought he did a pretty good job!)

Amazing Casting Resin
This part I mixed for him since my first time I was sloppy and made messes on surfaces that are messed up forever. Totally my fault.
I mixed equal parts of A and B.
But first I took part A and put some of the metallic powder and mixed it in so the resin would also be metallic colored throughout it and mixed well, then poured both parts into a paper cup.
After that I showed him how to as neatly as possible pour into the actual molds.
Then we waited a while since we had a mess to clean and a few other things to do.

Here is a picture of the original horseshoe with the new one.
They look VERY close, don't they?
The left one was the one made with the mold and the right one was the original!

This weekend we plan on making some Disney themed molds after I find all my Disney trinkets for his next project!

Thanks for visiting!

Also the main product page has a video that also shows you how to use the product!
