If You Give an Artist Some Sunshine...
AMAZING Inspiration with Rachel Whetzel

Hello, Creatives!! Rachel Whetzel, here, with a little vintage patriotic fun! I'm sure I'm not the only artist whose inspiration sometimes comes in an A.D.D. kind of mind stream. The kind that resembles the book If You Give a Moose a Muffin. For me it goes like this: The sun starts to come out, the fire pits gets it's first fire of the season, and I start thinking about Summer. Thinking about Summer makes me start to think about BBQ's. Thinking about BBQ's gets me thinking about my garden. Thinking about my garden gets me thinking about fresh fruit. Thinking about fresh fruit makes me start planning which one's I'll pick, like blueberries and strawberries. I like to dip them in whipped cream. Thinking about eating strawberries and blueberries dipped in whipped cream gets me all red white and blue, which reminds me of the 4th of July. Thinking about the 4th of July reminds me of BBQ's, and I decide I might make invitations to a BBQ on the 4th this year... and so I begin.

I have a vintage pin that says U.S. on it,
and that's where I jumped off for this project.

After molding the pin, I used Amazing Casting Resin with Bronze and Gold Metallic Powders to create the metal finish of the pin! I also had some vintage red white and blue crepe paper streamer that I used to back the pin.

Here's the finished invitation!! I really love the way these turned out, and how simple and easy it was to create them! I think I might use these pieces to create some patriotic banners too! I especially love that my "I-only-have-one" piece has now turned into an "I-have-as-many-as-I-want!" piece, thanks to Amazing Crafting Products

Now tell the truth... Am I the only
person whose muse takes them
on this twisted path to creation!?

Celebrating the 4th with AMAZING "Patriotic" Inspiration... by Brenda Lee Burfeind

Good day, Brenda here again. I hope you all have a wonderful and safe 4th of July. I'm so excited to be here today because the 4th of July is my all time favorite holiday for a few of reasons in no particular order.

1. I love Fireworks (and where we live we can blow them off from the 26th of June through the 7th of July)!

2. I love my husband and he was born on the 4th of July... what a lucky guy!

3. I love Patriotic Jewelry, and I own a ton of it!

So what better way to celebrate the 4th of July
and the good ole USA than with a new pin.

I love the look of the domino, but frankly I find them a bit heavy. So... Amazing Crafting Products to the rescue! I molded a domino with Amazing Mold Putty, then casted using Amazing Casting Resin, and created this:

The resin is so light weight and is a perfect canvas for Sharpies... yes, did you know you can write on your resin pieces with Sharpies? Yup, you sure can! I stamped the firework image for the background first with a Stazon inkpad which dries instantly. I also filled in color with my sharpies and painted the USA directly over that and again using my black sharpie I outlined that.

So I hope I've inspired you to get out your Amazing Crafting Products and your Sharpies and create something beautiful.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my inspiration and I'd love for you to stop by and see me at my blog "Creativity is a State of Mind". ~ Brenda Lee Burfeind

Thanks for stopping by and have a Fabulous 4th of July!

Bronzed Beauty Flower Pendant... by Guest Designer Brenda Burfeind

Good afternoon! Brenda here today to share another AMAZING jewelry project. The one thing I've learned since I've originally been on the creative team is that there are NO limits to what an "Amazing" product this is. You can do ALMOST anything, just let your imagination flow.

Today I'm here to show you how to create an Amazing pendant. I had this bezel pendant in my stash of jewelry pieces and hoped I could recreate it as it's really heavy and I don't like my neck being dragged down when wearing a necklace. Of course creating this out of resin takes a lot of the weight off!

1. I created by mold from the bezel. If you haven't seen how to use the Amazing Mold Putty, please check out the tutorial here.

2. I used the Alumilite Metallic Powder in Bronze and mixed it into the Part "A" of the Amazing Casting Resin. Make sure you mix it well to get all the powder dissolved. Once that is done mix that portion with an equal part the Part "B" of the Amazing Casting Resin. This takes about 5 minutes to cure and without the metallic powder your finished cured "piece" would be an opaque white. By adding the Alumilite Metallic Powder it gives it this beautiful bronze finish.

3. I punched out a piece of scrapbooking paper that fit just nicely inside of the "bezel".

4. I then decided on the flower placement. (I'll show you how to create this in the next section).

This flower was from a mold I made a long time ago from a brooch someone had given me. I just loved the look of this flower, but it would take up almost the entire bezel, so I decided to partially mold it.

1. Using the same Bronze Alumilite Metallic Powder as the bezel, I only filled the mold partially and after it had set for about 3 minutes I slowly peeled it out of the mold. While it's still pliable I "cut" off the outside petals with an ordinary scissor and with that a new flower has emerged.

Now I needed to adhere the flower to the bezel and I wanted to make sure that the scrapbook paper would also be preserved. I was afraid that in time it might start to "scratch" off or get damaged in other ways. I also thought a glass look would be cool. So Amazing Clear Cast Resin to the rescue!

1. Mix equal parts of "A" and "B" of the Amazing Clear Cast Resin and stir well. I usually let it sit for about 5 - 7 minutes to make sure ALL the air bubbles are out of it. DO NOT stir again as you will create more air bubbles and you would need to let it sit again.

2. I set the bezel on top of a plastic measuring cup on a very level surface and slowly poured the Amazing Clear Cast Resin into it. If you do get air bubbles, you can always use a small needle to pop them. The product says it cures in 24-48 hours, but it cured in about 12 hours and gave it a glass like look.

While I loved the look and feel of the pendant, I just felt it needed something else. Maybe a bit of color splash? I never have a "real" project in mind {ie. color and such}, I just kinda go with it.

Green really seemed to be the key to this pendant and this is how it came together.

I glued on some dew drops in for "petals" and I just love the outcome.

I hope you are as Amazed as I am on how beautiful this turned out.
Now I think I need to go shopping for a blouse to show off my new necklace.

Butterfly Kisses... AMAZING Inspiration
from Brenda Burfeind

I love little vintage picture frames and have a few sitting around the house here and there with pictures of the kids when they were young and also of the grandkids and so came the Inspiration for this project. I love these so much I thought I'd make one using the Amazing Mold Putty and Amazing Casting Resin and using it in a bit of a different way. Not necessarily as a photo frame, but to "frame" a butterfly on a plaque.

Using a small nail file I was able to get into those tiny areas and cleaned them up a bit after the frame was cast to get the finer detail of the butterflies and flowers. I painted the pieces and then used black rub-n-buff to tone it down and give it an aged look. I also used my stylus and dotted the butterflies "flight path". To see a full how-to on how I created this piece... CLICK HERE.

Just imagine how many AMAZING photo frames you could make. I know I will have a few more added to my collection now also and if you make something using the Amazing Mold Putty or Amazing Casting Resin, please let me know so I can come see your creations.

Fabulous Faux Enamel Feather Earrings with
Guest Designer Brenda Burfeind

Good day! Brenda here and I want thank Susan for inviting me back to show off some projects I've been making since leaving the Amazing Mold Putty Design Team. I was one of the original designers for Amazing Crafting Products and loved every minute of it.

Since leaving the team, I still continued to use Amazing Crafting Products because these products are ultimately the best. I love the fact that I can create almost anything I want. The molding putty is my all time favorite and of course I love using the Amazing Casting Resin and the Amazing Clear Cast Resin to create those embellishments.

So today I wanted to create some feather earrings that I had seen on Pinterest a while back. I started out with some Creative Paperclay®. I cut the clay in a oval type shape and using a bamboo skewer I added some lines to create those feather like looks. Press your bamboo skewer into the clay to make those veins. It really has great dimension. Once the piece is dry, you can use a nail file to smooth out the edges if you want or need to.

Once the piece dried I then prepared the feather to be encased in Amazing Mold Putty to create the mold. I added some vaseline to the paperclay "feather" as a release to make sure it would not stick to the mold putty. Better safe than sorry I always say.

I took two equal parts of the mold putty and blended them making sure there were no white streaks showing. You have a couple of minutes to get it good and blended. Then I pressed the clay feather piece into the mold putty and let it sit for about 10 minutes. I usually press my fingers slightly into the edge of the mold to make sure it's really good and hard and then I slowly pulled the clay piece out of the mold. Be very careful as the clay piece could break when taking it out of the mold. I will use the clay piece in a scrapbook layout or maybe for embellishing a card.

I created the earrings with the Amazing Casting Resin and Gold Alumilite Metallic Powder. Add your Alumilite powder to your part "A" and mix well. Then pour your part "B" into your part "A" and mix again. You only have a few minutes before it wants to set up, so make sure you do this quickly.

After the pieces were cast, I added some black rub and buff to tone down the gold. I also sealed the pieces with some Sakura 3-D Crystal Lacquer and placed a few iridescent pearls to the "feathers". Now I have two perfectly matched feathers. I used my Crop-A-Dile to create the holes for the earring wires, it goes through the resin piece very easy. I added a couple of jump rings and the earring wires and now I have a great pair of earrings.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you've enjoyed my feather earrings tutorial and I cannot wait to share my next project! You can always find me here to see what else I create.  ~ Brenda Burfeind

Vintage Bookmark – Combining Textiles and Jeweled Treasures...

Hello Everyone! This is Isie and I'm really excited to show you how to make a fabric bookmark with beautiful resin embellishments using Amazing Crafting Products.

One of the things I enjoy the most about creating new things is that I get to rummage around my own storage boxes and give old things a whole new life. I knew I wanted my finished bookmark to have an aged look, so I started with some vintage jewelry pieces that I had stashed away.

I created molds of each piece using Amazing Mold Putty and then painted the details with Alumilite Metallic Powders using a small soft bristled brush. For these two pieces, I used Bronze, Gold and Copper. For detailed instructions on mixing Amazing Mold Putty, please CLICK HERE.

Once I finished painting, I filled the molds with Amazing Clear Cast Resin and let them dry overnight. The finished pieces looked great! The metallic powder completely bonded with the resin, so it left a clean mold that I can use for other projects with no worries about residue.

For the bookmark I used a Bronze and Aqua fabric, sewing it on three sides and leaving the top open so that it can also serve as a case to store your reading glasses. The center detail was attached to the fabric using a two part epoxy adhesive. For the small embellishment, I drilled small holes at the top and bottom of the piece and used gold tone jump rings to secure it to the bookmark. The final touch is a tassel made with Gold and Aqua yarn.

Enjoy your next book knowing you'll never lose your place or your glasses. This finished bookmark also makes a great gift for your favorite reader. Thanks for visiting! Isabel Villarreal

Pendant Necklace

As a member of the Amazing Mold Putty design team, we were all asked to submit a project for CHA and I was pretty intimidated at first.  I wanted to make something that screamed wow...  My son's girlfriend had been over for dinner and she always wears the cutest jewelry.  She had on a long necklace with a fairly large pendant and that's when it hit me...I could recreate something like that.  Hers was a bit heavy and that made my idea even better.  I used Amazing Mold Putty, Amazing Casting Resin (liquid to solid in 5 minutes), Alumilite's Silver and Gold Powder, Gold acrylic paint and Silver paint marker to complete this project.
First  I made a mold of one of my favorite belt buckles
and a Fleur De Liz button
I casted the belt buckle with the Resin and Silver Metalic Powder
and the Fleur de Lis button with Gold Metalic Powder
I highlighted various spots of the pendant with the
gold metallic paint and highlighted the tops of the
Fleur De Lis with a silver painters pen
I added gold and silver chains to the pendants to create this beautiful necklace
I was pretty happy with the outcome and my son's GF was amazed.  I sent my pendant off to CHA and got a lot of positive feedback from it.  Even though I couldn't be there, at least a part of me was...LOL

Gone Fishing with Amazing Mold Putty

I have had so much fun on this design team and am sorry to see my term ending, but I know I'll be seeing beautiful projects from the upcoming DT.

For my last project I molded one of my favorite pins and used it as a charm on this card. The Alumilite Bronze Powder helped me make it look metallic and one of a kind. The KaiserCraft paper was a perfect blend with my charm.

Paper Clay vs Amazing Mold Putty

Good day all

Today I have a quick tutorial on how to create a fabulous way to create a monogram plus name to your project. A loooonnnngggg time ago I had purchased a "candy mold" alphabet but never used it.  When I became addicted to Creative Paperclay® and Amazing Mold Putty I remembered this mold and wanted to use it.  It was so old that I was afraid that it would hold up with the Amazing Mold Resin so first I made each letter using the paperclay.
Then I molded the paperclay into the Amazing Mold Putty.
Then I combined the Amazing Casting Resin "Liquid to Solid in 5 minutes" with some pink alcohol ink to make the letters and I also made a butterfly mold with some plum alcohol ink.
After the letters casted I glued them to a painted wooden A and added the butterfly also.
I really like how I can personalize almost anything using the Amazing Mold Putty with the casting resin.
I hope you enjoyed this week's project of mine and I will see you again next month.

ATC Accessories with Amazing Mold Putty

Artist Trading Cards [ATC for short] are little pieces of art contained on a "card" the size of 2½×3½. These can be made out of anything. I have plans this year to try to make ATCs in an effort to broaden my creativity. Today I present to you an ATC comprised of my favorite things!  I hope you enjoy!
Favorite Things ATC--felting, steampunk, Amazing Mold Putty
Terri Sproul Mixers, and Sizzix Dies--these are a few of MY favorite things!
I began the construction of my ATC by die cutting from felt the
ATC base, gears, hearts and other potential items that I might
need in the construction of my ATC.
I then also die cut foam core board to use for making my mold.
I rolled out a large piece of putty after combining Part A and Part B.
I pressed the foam core die cuts into the putty and went over them
with my brayer pushing putty to enable an even pour of resin.
The completed molds looked like this. They were perfect for
pouring the white Amazing Casting Resin. I also practiced with
some Creative Paperclay that I will use for a future project. These
steampunky molds will get quite the workout!
I added the felt components to the felt ATC base
by needle felting them.
Prior to pouring the casting resin, I dusted my molds with bronze
Metallic Powder by Allumilite. It provide this matte finish to my
resin gears.
I coated my gear for my project with Sakura Hobby
Crafts 3D Crysral Lacquer mixed with the Allumilite
Metallic Powder to give it a sheen. I then also for the heart
sprinkled Terri Sproul's Mixers Glitz Effects--which are
small Vintage Glass Particles--think chunky glitter.
AWESOME.
The elements were then trimmed and added to my felt ATC with hot glue. The edges that were revealed by cutting the resin were touched with more Allumilite and lacquer

I adore how My Favorite Things ATC turned out. The elements that can be molded and casted are virtually unlimited!! I can't wait to make  more "die cut" molds and create accessories for all of my crafty needs!! stay tuned...

Molding with cutouts..

Hey everybody!! I cannot believe it's my 3rd post here @ AMP -- this stuff is so amazing and I'm having so much fun molding anything and everything in site.. it's also been so great to experiment with! One of my favorite things so far has been to mold old "embellishments" that I'm afraid to use because I don't want to run out of them...

and one of them is this gorgeous elaborate little metal frame -- and it has all these fun cutouts.. At first I was a bit intimidated but after giving it a go I now have some super easy tips to share with you!!

Start by mixing your equal parts A and B (yellow and white) of the molding putty. (I have actually found that it doesn't take very many extra seconds to measure out my putty in measuring spoons.. less wasted if my mixture seems to be off!!)

Flatten slightly (for my piece.. you may not need to do this!) and insert frame. Keep your fingers out of the way of your cutouts.. only go as far as you're comfortable... you don't want to ruin your mold.

Then grab something super small... I used a pin with a head on it.. so that I had something to press onto with out hurting my little fingers.. use this object to press your piece down into the mold nice and deep. You want the putty to ooze out of the cutouts so that there's a nice barrier for when you lay down your resin!

Allow mold to cure... then demold your original slowly -- don't pull too hard, you may pull off the parts that will create your cutouts!

Get your favorite Alumilite Metallic Powder --- I used BRONZE

and dust your mold :)

Then.. Mix your white quick cast resin -- equal parts A and B -- stir till clear and pour.
-I always have extra molds laying around to dump my excess mixture into.. I hate waste!!!-

Allow to cure! See it drying with the mold sticking out of it? YAY!!

Then demold!! =D

My piece got a bit thick.. but I think I may try brushing in the white casting resin and seeing if it will still cure -- will be wonderful to have TONS of these frames around!!
See you next time! -DeeDee
