#Cre8time Celebrations... DIY Patriotic Planter by Brenda Burfeind

Happy 4th of July! Brenda from Creativity is a State of Mind to share what has become my annual 4th of July project. It's not just Independence Day, it's my husband's birthday also – and every year on the 4th, we have a big party and celebrate with lots of games, good food and of course fireworks.

I try to decorate as much as possible, but this year time got a little away from me... but I did manage to make some planters representing my love for the red, white and blue. Last year I created an amazing Patriotic wind chime using Amazing Clear Cast Resin – you can see it by CLICKING HERE

Using the same method as last year's resin paper stars, I created these stars. When cured, I layered one of each color on top of a coordinating piece of ribbon to embellish some simple silver vases.

How do you show your Cre8time colors?

Wishing everyone a happy and safe 4th of July. I hope you enjoy your 4th and thank you for stopping by. I hope you've enjoyed my project for today! I invite you to stop over to my blog, Creativity is a State of Mind to see all that I've been making.

Until next time, Happy Crafting! ~ Brenda

#Cre8time to Remember our Veterans...
by Brenda Burfeind

Good day crafters! Brenda here and today I want to share a little thank you card I put together for Veteran's Day... in my favorite "patriotic" theme. Do you recognize a little something?! I created the embellishments for this using the resin paper I made for my 4th of July windchime {in case you missed it, CLICK HERE to pop over and take a peek}.

Using Amazing Clear Cast Resin, I turned a paper table cloth into resin paper – then used Art-C dies to cut out the shapes. I added a bit of ribbon, cardstock and a matching napkin for the background! Easy-peasy!

Thank you to all those who have served
or are still serving! God Bless America

Please leave me a comment with your ideas and also head over
to Creativity is a State of Mind to see what else I am up to.

Until next time... ~ Brenda wishing you a great day!

Seeing #Cre8time Stars and Stripes... AMAZING Upcycled Art by Brenda Burfeind

Good day crafters! Brenda here from Creativity is a State of Mind and I am going to show you how to use the Amazing Clear Cast Resin in a different way than just making a mold.

A while back while junking, I found this cool wooden trivet and I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it.  To me it looked like the beginnings of a flag.  With Veteran's Day coming up, I knew just what to do.

I started out with some contact paper and burnished it to the backside of the trivet.

Then I mixed up some Amazing Clear Cast Resin
and poured it into each hole about 3/4 full.

Then I pulled out my Alumilite dyes in Red, White and Blue. My bottles look pretty bad, but that just shows how much I use them – I absolutely love these products :)

Using a toothpick, I swirled a bit of color in each section – creating the flag look.

I even took a bit of the white and swirled it into the blue to create the "stars" effect.

Totally love the look!

Now I didn't color the entire square because I was hoping to let some light come through as I want to hang this in my kitchen window. I also went from dark to light by adding less and less color to each square to get a lighter effect. I then filled the rest up to the top with Amazing Clear Cast Resin.

I was pretty happy with the look, but still felt it needed something. I remembered a star necklace I made a few years back with the Amazing Mold Putty and Amazing Casting Resin and found my mold to recreate those stars.  You can see my post HERE.

No color added  – the Amazing Casting Resin sets up within minutes and is pure white, ready to paint and alter... but I'm going to use them just as they are.

I glued my stars to the blue portion of my trivet,
added some eye hooks and a strand of white pearls.

Love how the light shines through!

How do you transform
household objects into art?

Thanks for joining me today! I hope you've enjoyed my tutorial today and I would love to hear what you would create with Amazing Casting Products. Please leave me a comment with your ideas and also head over to Creativity is a State of Mind to see what else I am up to.

Until next time... ~ Brenda wishing you a great day!

#Cre8time Celebrations... Windchime American Style by Brenda Burfeind

Happy 4th of JULY everyone! Brenda here from Creativity is a State of Mind and I'm so excited for my post today. If you have been following us here at Amazing Casting Products, you will know that I've been crafting with them for many, many years and the 4th of July has always been my day to post projects. Why? Because it's my hubby's birthday and I am super patriotic, especially on this fine day!

So let's dive right in...

I started out with a paper table cloth I bought at Walmart. It's that crepe-paper style that tears the minute you get it out of the package! This is where the creativity comes in!

You will need a plastic bag, baking/freezer paper
or a teflon sheet to lay your paper on.

I mixed up some Amazing Clear Cast Resin to make my resin paper. All you need to do is mix up the resin and you find view the easy mixing instructions HERE! Make sure you wear gloves and coat both sides of your paper evenly and leave it alone for a couple of hours. I think my paper set up in about 4 hours.

Here is a short video on how the resin
"paper" looks and feels after it's dried.

Please CLICK HERE if you are unable to view video.

Now onto step 2 ...

With my Cricut I cut three stars out of chipboard, "recycled cereal box" to be exact. With some left over Amazing Clear Cast Resin from the previous step, I covered the stars and "glued" my crepe-paper table cloth onto it and cut around the excess.

I got this "bottle dryer" at a thrift store and knew I was going to use this for my doming. This has been an amazing find for me. It's made out of a rubbery material and the resin comes right off of it. FABULOUS!!

I laid my stars on top and slowly poured my Amazing Clear Cast Resin over the top. Make sure you spread it to all the edges and tips of the stars. Also make sure you have this placed on a LEVEL table. You do not want your stars to have more resin on one side or the other.

This set up in about 12 hours. It might have been less but I left it alone for that long.

Here the stars as they are drying.
By using the "recycled cereal box" it
gave the stars an aged look. LOVE IT!

So after my resin paper had dried I took an embroidery hoop and cut out a circle. Again mixing up a tiny bit of Amazing Clear Cast Resin, I applied that to the edge of the embroidery hoop. I could have used another glue, but I wanted to make sure it looked even. SURE – use your clear cast as glue!!!

Since the paper was already covered with resin it didn't "bleed" through and I was able to use my homemade clamps (clothespins made with my crepe-paper table cloth) to keep it taught.

This set up in about 20 minutes. GORGEOUS!

I drilled holes into the embroidery hoop and the tips of the stars. Using fishing line I attached the stars with bells to the embroidery hoop and VIOLA, my Patriotic Wind Chime was created.

It was so hard to catch a still photo so here is a very short video on what it looks like swinging in the breeze. AMAZING!!!

Celebrating #Cre8time Freedom with American "Fries"... AMAZING Inspiration by Brenda Burfeind

Happy 4th of July!!! Brenda here today to share what's become a tradition here on the Amazing Casting Products Blog that started back in 2013 with this patriotic pin. Last summer I created these dangling sparkling stars to wear... and today I am adorned with new earrings just in time for the celebration!

Today is my favorite day of the year! It's better than Christmas and my Birthday rolled into one! Today is America's birthday and my husband's birthday also. I've always been very patriotic and today I am here to inspire you with my American "Fries" earrings. You will totally understand in a minute.

My grandkids have recently come to live with us and therefore we have all sorts of toys laying around the house. The crafter in me is always looking at their toys wondering what I could mold or create with using Amazing Casting Products

Today is no exception! Recently we were playing kitchen and I saw these amazing French Fries in their mixture of play food...

Oh how the wheels started to spin!

I just had to make a mold with those cute play fries. I poured them with some Amazing Casting Resin after making a mold with the Amazing Mold Putty and let them cure for about 5 minutes.

Using regular acrylic paints, I painted some red stripes and a small section in blue on top of the white Amazing Casting Resin. E6000® and some rhinestones for some bling and drilling a hole to attach some jump rings and earring wires I now I have the perfect earrings for the 4th of July!

I totally thought how the shape of those French fries reminded me of a waving flag... and I brought that vision to life! AMAZING!!!

I hope I've inspired you to use something out of your kids'
or grandkids' stash and create something fun!

How do you Celebrate your Cre8time Freedom?

Show Your #Cre8time Colors... wearing Red, White and Blue Stars by Brenda Burfeind

Good day all! Brenda here again from Creativity is a State of Mind sharing an amazing embossing technique. Now those of you that follow me know that my favorite color is purple, I make all kinds of jewelry, I LOVE elephants and my favorite holiday is ... 4th of July. My husband was born on the 4th and where we live in South Dakota it is legal to blow off fireworks from the 1st thru the 5th of July. Hubby has turned our youngest son into a pyro also. They build all kinds of contraptions and fuse things together to make the biggest and best fireworks display. It's gotten to the point that we don't even go see the "free" show at the park. We have a big party at our house and have lots of lots of friends and family come join out festivities. We set up a bean bag tournament and fun and games for the kids. We have a big cookout with everyone bringing something to pass and then at dusk we enjoy a massive fireworks display. It's so much fun...

So now let's get to why I am are here today. My project today is another jewelry one, but this time with an added twist. I wanted to create a necklace for the 4th displaying some stars. I have plenty of star buttons and such that I could have molded but I wanted some detail. All my stars are just plain and boring. I do however own the "Stars" Cuttlebug embossing folder. Hmmm, could I emboss a star and mold it? Let's try...

I took some plastic from packaging that I hoard... 'er – I mean I save it for projects like this one. Once I ran the piece through my Cuttlebug I carefully cut two of the stars shapes out.

I mixed up equal parts of Amazing Mold Putty parts "A" and "B" together (Click HERE to get specific instructions on how to do this) and pressed the embossed plastic stars into it. I set aside to cure for about 15 minutes and it's time for the big reveal!

Check out the detail it gave! LOVE IT!!!

I mixed up some Amazing Casting Resin and dusted my mold with Blue and Red Alumidust. I also poured one mold with just the Amazing Casting Resin as it cures white. After they had cured, I used some rub n buff in red, white and blue to highlight each stars embossing and VOILA ...

A fabulous necklace to show off on the 4th of July.

Now, I hope I've inspired you to use some of your embossing folders and Amazing Crafting Products and create your own one of a kind piece of jewelry, card embellishment or whatever your heart desires.

What would you emboss and how would you use it?

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful 4th of July holiday!
