A Slice of #Cre8time Love... by Michele Kosciolek

Michele here with a quickie in honor of "LOVE"... a small wall hanging and showing love isn't only for Valentines Day.

I found a perfect little slice of wood, it spoke to me and I had to create with it!!

I stamped with some Viva Las VegaStamps! images and colored directly onto my slice of wood. I also hand stamped the word love and rubbed a bit of Archival Ink in the impression.

I used Amazing Clear Cast Resin to create a protective layer over my stamping and to make it seem like it was a painting under a piece of glass.

The Amazing Clear Cast Resin brought out the beautiful details of the wood – look at that heathering in the bark... WOW!

What seasonal decor
are you making
in the name of LOVE?

Thanks for sharing part of you day with us!!!
Until next time... get creating!! Michele

The One That Got Away... AMAZING Inspiration by Lyn Gill

Hi all! Lyn Gill here again with some Home Decor inspiration. My Husband and I are fair-weather fishing fanatics... LOL ...so you know we have different categories for fish we've caught like... most, biggest, first and smallest, least and last – but now I've come up with the perfect trophy for the best/worst category... "The One That Got Away"!

Using a mold I made of a vintage salt shaker and Amazing Remelt, a wooden plank I got from the craft store, some resin and a little alphabet stamp set, I created this fun fish "trophy" for the One that Got Away!

So What's Your Favorite Fish Story...
The One That Got Away?

#Cre8time Inspired... Easy Peasy Box Decor by Aimée Wheaton

This simple project came together super fast! It makes a great gift idea or an embellishment to a gift that will be treasured for a long time. This will have lots of glitter and shine for a long time to come! I made this for my daughter, it will match her room and she can hold her little trinkets in it. This wooden box was purchased for $1.99 at a craft store – it's a card holder box for playing cards but can be used in other ways.

Here's what you'll need to create this look:
  • Wooden craft box
  • Masking Fluid
  • Watercolors
  • 1 sheet of water color paper to catch all the extra water
  • brush
  • water
  • Amazing Clear Cast Resin
  • Glitter
  • Flat back craft gems

Using masking fluid, draw desired design
onto wooden box and let dry.

Paint over the masking fluid and then take it off when
completely dry. Now you're ready to add the resin!

Look how shimmery it is!!

Simple with a big impact!! Amazing Clear Cast Resin makes a nice finishing touch on any of your projects. Look for more amazing ways to use this resin by searching in the side bar!

From "Meh..." to #Cre8time WOW! Artsy Home Decor REDUX by Aimée Wheaton #MakeThings

I'm a sucker for good deals and I'm an even bigger sucker for things that have birds on them. Well I found this good deal sometime this Spring at Hobby Lobby for $2.99... couldn't pass that up. I loved how it looked like folk art too. I decided to make it pop a bit more using some paint, gel medium, stamps, ink, glitter, pen and of course Amazing Clear Cast Resin!

Here's the original bird :)

I chose lighter aqua, yellow, orange, white
and added pink as an after thought.

I love how it started coming to life already just with acrylic paint.

I LOVE the orange.

Next I decided to stamp the word "peace" because it looked peaceful
and we could use more peace in this world and our homes.

Next I embellished certain areas with gel medium and then...

sprinkled some glitter :)

Getting really pretty!! You can see I added
a hot pink for even more color.

I mixed up some Amazing Clear Cast Resin in a larger batch – I wanted to pour into another mold as well, the same mold I used in my inspiration post last month.

Mix it well and let the bubbles settle a bit.

Originally I was going to do resin to the edges of the piece,
but decided to go to the border of the bird and stay inside.

Letting it dry overnight.

Now check out the finished product!! :)

Well to my dismay the Amazing Clear Cast Resin jumped the border! LOL I will be filling it in to cover the entire surface soon. I didn't have time to fix it before this post. I really like how it made the entire piece just pop! So much prettier to me! Simple project with a lot of pizazz!

I gave her lashes! How could I not?

Shining in the sun.

You can see where the resin migrated here. I'll go back with
another batch of Amazing Clear Cast Resin and fill it all in.

I really like how she turned out! :) What do you think?

#Cre8time Super Duper Scoopers by Aimée Wheaton

Aimée here with my latest project, it's a simple one but a useful one for myself. One thing I love about these products is that if you need another item or something to have around the house I can mold another one and make it prettier!

I found a wooden ice cream scoop in my stash of items to mold and had no clue it was there. I collect things in my daily travels and save them for times when I need some inspiration. Well I've needed a scoop for smaller things for awhile so I didn't hesitate to make a new one.

I made 2 molds for this project using Amazing Mold Putty, one flat one and one with whimsical bumps made from hot glue. I am getting ready to sample a bunch of makeup for people and needed a simple scoop to pick up the loose powder and put in smaller containers, this will work perfectly for that and is the inspiration for this post.

I started with the simple scoop and the ever AMAZING Mold Putty.

Take equal parts of Part "A" and Part "B".

Mix together using hands until all the bubbles are gone and it's a solid yellow color with no streaks. Form it around the piece you are molding and let it harden.

Here is the first mold after I took the scoop out.

Using the same scoop I added some hot glue dots on it and while that was drying made a hot glue stencil (in the background) for other uses.

I then painted the mold with 2 different Alumidust powders. I wanted a gradient look. I also created the second mold using the one with the glue dots and then demolded the scoop.

I painted the second mold with 2 other colors of the Alumidust.
Love these two – Cotton Candy and Bright Blue.

Next came the resin! I'm using Amazing Casting Resin for this project which dries white unless you add any of the dusts or dyes to it. You would add the dye to Part "A" of the resin if you wanted a color other than white.

Pour equal parts of Part "A" and Part "B" of the Amazing Casting Resin into a larger cup. I made way too much resin but had other molds nearby just in case.

Mix it up well but work fast because this starts to heat up quickly.

You can see the resin in all the molds –
even the two in middle which haven't cured yet.

I pulled it out while it was still flexible and trimmed off the parts I didn't want that were still soft. If it hardens before you have a chance to do this you can sand it off but be sure to use proper protection like a mask and goggles.

Perfect scoop for small beads if they have flat parts :)

Side by side...

Perfect for any small project! You can also use these to name sections in the garden too by writing with a sharpie on the spoon parts.

"Torn" at #Cre8time and all the AMAZING Possibilities... by Aimée Wheaton

Hi all!

I'm so torn lately, I have way too much going on in my life and that's my own fault but life is exciting. I started creating this piece and realized as it was evolving it was a metaphor for my life. Funny how art imitates life at times. I was thinking I'd call it "Split Personality" but "Torn" seemed like a better fit. This funky piece of art brought to life through the use of Amazing Mold Putty and a funny little doll head I bought from the amazing Cat Kerr!

Here is "Torn".

I started out with this cute doll head I bought from Cat and molded
it with Amazing Mold Putty {CLICK HERE to view mixing/preparation}.

I had to do a few trials with it, the first batch of Amazing Casting Resin didn't turn out quite right. I think I put too many drops of Alumilite Dye in... so I ditched that piece and started over again. Next time I used the Alumidust instead. I chose gold and gunmetal. Please CLICK HERE to view mixing/preparation.

You can see one of the bad ones in the background,
I may end up using it in another project.

I started out with a large wooden furniture dowel I had laying around and wrapped ripped up Sari ribbon on it as well as painted cheesecloth. I love using cheesecloth in everything!

I used some Tim Holtz Ranger Distress Ink in pink on the wood to add some extra color and then went back over that with Jet Black StazOn Ink as well to make it look worn.

Love how it brings out the texture!

Next came hammering in furniture tacks on all four
sides, alternating between black and brass.

I then coiled wire loosely around my finger
and cut 4 of them to wrap around the furniture tacks.

I then went back over the tacks with more painted cheesecloth and looped it over the tacks. Next came the embellishments and glue.

Using E6000® adhesive, I glued on the two doll heads on top and on the bottom the two resin pieces I had laying around using the Amazing Casting Resin as well as two large vintage buttons.

I like how worn and rough the dolls look. Not perfect at all. It adds to the character.

All in all this was a fun piece to make – except
the issues I had with the dye at the beginning.

What do you think of her?

Let's see what you can create
with your variety of items,
