Owl Statue For My Garden

This is my last month on the Amazing Mold Putty Design team. I am a bit sad. I really do love this product and will miss the team. I will however, continue to use the resin and AMP because it is one of my favorite craft supplies as I say all the time! For my last project I molded an Owl I got for Halloween. I am on of those people who have Halloween and odd things sit around the house all year ON PURPOSE! I molded just the owl off of the piece so i can then add it to a base and put it in my garden. As you can see I painted it bright colors to add to the garden of vegetables and flowers and I love having these things set around my flower beds and such. One of my first AMP projects I did was a statue I got from the dollar store so I could use it outside for the same reason!

What I did first was molded the owl. I did not mold the bottom part as I knew I wanted to attach it to a few branches from outside.

(THERE IS MY ADORABLE BABY SPYRO JAMES WALKING AROUND...I COULD NOT EDIT HIM OUT!) Once it set I then mixed my Resin and added a bit of silver to it. I wanted to see if I wanted to keep it silver or paint it.

Resin poured in mold.

Completely cured owl cast in Amazing Casting Resin.

Once cured, I decided I wanted it bright - so I painted (which AMP takes paint wonderfully) the owl bright green, added iridescentblue eyes, pupils, a beak and dry brushed a darker green all over it. Now I need to do a clear coat on it and paint a wooden heart I got from the craft store and glue this to it and set it out in the garden. I LOVE IT!

And one last thing... I have also been Blessed to have my Octopus now on the Amazing Mold Putty and Casting Resin Boxes! Thank you!

I want to thank Terri Sproul and the AMP Design Team and the company itself for Blessing me with this opportunity to be on your Design Team for a year! It is by far one of my favorite products and things I have done!

QUEEN OF ME

I love Amazing Mold Putty and I say it every post. My time on the Design Team is winding down and I am starting to get sad. I love it and I love all the creative uses for it. For this month I made a tag for someone as a RAK and used AMP and Resin for the crown and wings. I used Gun Metal Metallic Powder from Alumilite and added a bit of glitter for some detail. First I inked up the tag with a lot of different inks and paints to make a cool background. Then I drew a quick face and body on it and used a creme color acrylic paint and painted it. I loved the color from the base coming through to the body and face.I mixed my and made my molds and then poured my Resin with a tiny bit of the powder. I added eyes and embelleshments and the word FLY in glitter on top. I left the hole open so it can be hung. I love the way this came out and am so happy with it! Please try this product! The things you can do with are endless!

Bracelet Blanks with Amazing Mold Putty

I can't tell you how many times I have wanted to make a bracelet and haven't had a blank here for me to use. I have an empty cardboard tape roll that I use in my mixed media and it fits my wrist with a bit of room so I thought hmmmmmmmm....I can make as many blanks as I want out of AMAZING MOLD PUTTY!!!!!! So here is what I did. I took my AMP and mixed quite a bit of it. I then pushed my empty cardboard roll in it and let it set. It literally takes 10 minutes. You can see when I mixed my resin I used a silver colorant and poured a bunch of molds so I had a choice of what I wanted on my bracelet. Now you can wrap the bracelet with whatever you want to and as many different textures or colors but I used eyelash yarn in rust. As I wrapped it I use hot glue to tack every 10 wraps or so just for extra security. I then decided what piece I wanted to use as the main focus on the bracelet.I decided the Victorian woman would be the choice for this one. I hot glued her on and then used perfect pearls to colorize her and highlight her to match the yarn. Now you can paint the cast or whatever you want. Its hard to get the best picture with the lights on the shining face but in person it is so beautiful! I can make so many different kinds now and wear with my outfits and use whatever theme I want! Your imagination is the only thing that can stop you with this great product!

Clay Dolphin and Resin

I love mixing products together. I was watching a Documentary on Dolphins and it gave me an idea to try with clay and resin. First thing I did was make a piece with polymer clay (you can also use Creative Paperclay®) and used a wire to attach the dolphin as if he was jumping out if the water. Once that was done, I baked it according to the clay instructions and got ready for the next step!

Next I mixed the Amazing Clear Cast Resin (according to the directions) and poured it into my "water" part in my piece. Here is my finished piece.

I have been in love with making items like this lately as I also made a Snowman family on ice to sit around the house at the holiday time.

Always think outside of the box with these Resin and Amazing Mold Putty products. They are so awesome and can make some really great Art to sit around the house!

Vintage Key Pendant

I have been thinking of Christmas presents and what people would like. Amazing Mold Putty is such and awesome product because I sit and play until I get what I want and it doesn't take long at all. I am into making jewelry and using vintage pieces. When I saw the original piece of jewelry I had to cast it. It came out so great that I couldn't wait to antique and age it. First I cast the key in the Amazing Mold Putty, you use 2 of the same sizes of A and B and mix them thoroughly until they are blended and then push your piece in and leave sit for approximately ten minutes. When finished you remove your key and you have a piece that you can use resin or clay in and make the same piece over and over. I used Amazing Casting Resin for this piece because it cures in less than ten minutes and cures white which I love. They also sell a Resin that dries clear and takes 24 hours or so to cure. I took silver and gold and tapped them on the piece with a paintbrush to get a mottled look. Once dry I took watered down black acrylic paint and painted it all on the piece and wiped it gently off so it stayed in cracks and crevices. After it was dry I added Sakura 3D Crystal Lacquer let it dry added a jump ring and put it on this necklace cord. I love it so very much I am going to wear it for Thanksgiving.

My new Muse-One Hand Sam

I know-I know- Every month it seems lately that I am doing Halloween Projects. But I love them and they sit in my house all year long. I have found I am not the only one who does this so my weirdness isn't all that weird! THIS is why I love Amazing Mold Putty and Resin. My husband has a figure that sits in his office. I stare at it every time I go in there and think...I want to mold that! Well he finally gave in and let me but scared me so much about the figures hair I kinda held the mold a bit cock eyed and one arm did not form well. (DO NOT WORRY HIS FIGURES HAIR WAS NOT HARMED! LOL) But that did not bother me-it gave the figure much more of the look I love! Here is my mold Once I took it out of mold I poked holes in it while a bit pliable. Then I gave it a dry brush of white paint, black eyes and red in his mouth and dripping out. I added wool hair, green of course, and added wire so I could hang him. He is now hanging in my Art room in front of me inspiring me as I work! Here are my finished pictures. If you have not tried this product it is amazing. The things you can make and do with it will amaze you! It is one of my favorite Craft items.

SKULL AND BONES with Amazing Mold Putty-Resin

I love skulls so much that I keep them around, as well as all kinds of other Halloween stuff, all year round in my art room. When I went shopping recently to one of the craft stores near my home, I found a 3D cardboard skull sticker. They only had one and I was very upset as I wanted to buy a few for different things. As it sat it in my bin of "things" I kept thinking...what can I do with this?
Then it hit me! I am going to use my Amazing Mold Putty and mold my own so that I can have as many as I want to use with resin or clay! I was so excited I started right away.
I decided I would make a mixed media piece. As I poured my Amazing Casting Resin I decided that I wanted it to be in two pieces so I made sure I poured the mixture thinner in the areas I wanted to cut. You do not have to do that, however, as the resin when it comes out is very easy to cut as you do get some time to form and cut before it really cures.
First, I took My 3D Sakura Crystal Lacquer and used Terri Sproul Mixers in silver and painted the Black card-stock. I then glued the pieces to my very thick card-stock. This is a new item (to me) that I found at the craft store. It is double thick card-stock and I love it for so many reasons. I also used resin and the molds I made previously of spiders and skulls and my lion that I re-resined in silver and added them to the piece. I used some clock and watch pieces in the eyes to give the skull a steam punk look with Sakura 3D Crystal Lacquer and other clock gears on resin poured gears.
I added embellishments and so many other little touches. I took my metal tape and taped around the edges of the card-stock and antiqued it to match more of the look I was going for with the piece.
