Lucky Buffalo Nickel!!! AMAZING Inspiration from Sandra Strait

The year is 1926. A young man, far from home and family, visits the World's Fair. He buys a Lucky Buffalo Nickel souvenir. Eighty-seven years later, I decide to make a lucky keychain.

When I was a young child, my grandfather gave me the 3-inch nickel souvenir he bought at the World's Fair. It was then, and still is, a prized possession. Recently, I saw it in the display cabinet and thought...

What a cool keychain that would make!

And it did! I dusted the putty mold with Silver Alumilite Metallic Powder (and a touch of Gunmetal), and stuck a wood stylus into the poured Amazing Casting Resin so it would have a hole for the keychain.

The original souvenir nickel is quite heavy. I'm not sure what the composition is, but it's metal! The resin nickel will be much easier to carry around.

I decided not to mold the back because it has so much tarnish build-up on it that I couldn't get a good casting. I don't think the nickel is worth a lot--it's a fairly common souvenir from that time frame, and not specific to the World's Fair. But cleaning an item can reduce its value, so I didn't want to try it. Instead, I left the back white, and wrote on it with a permanent marker.

And have you seen the new products

Fun and Easy Key Chain Fobs... AMAZING Inspiration by Isabel Villarreal

Making cute and original gifts for your friends and family couldn't be easier! Whenever I can recycle or re-use scraps it makes my heart smile. A friend gave me some small plastic scraps from his sign shop and I turned them into these adorable fobs that can be clipped to key rings, a necklace, or used as a decoration on your purse or backpack. This will work well with any stiff material such as wood, metal or plastic.

Use colorful paper, beads, shells, buttons or gems and arrange them to make a fob that shows your own personal style. A dot of craft glue helps keep everything in place. Once you're happy with your creation just mix some Amazing Clear Cast Resin following the package instructions and pour a thin coat over the center of the piece, avoiding the edges. Use a toothpick to "push" the resin to the edges and allow to dry for 8 to 12 hours. Once it's dry drill a small hole at the top and attach the hardware of your choice – cute, fun & easy!

You could make charms out of anything...
what supplies would you use?

I'd love to see what you create - please share your creations

Introducing our AMAZING Featured Artist for May... Jennifer Ingle!

Happy Monday! We are excited to launch our "Featured Artist" series here at the Amazing Crafting Products blog. Each month we will be featuring one artist who will share a special project and some inspiration using Amazing Crafting Products.

Out featured artist this month is no stranger to Amazing Mold Putty, as she is one of our Amazing Crafting Products team alumni – and we are proud to have Jennifer Ingle rejoin us as our Featured Artist for May. We are so excited to welcome her back, even if it's just for a short time!

A little bit about Jennifer, a.k.a. "jingle"...

I am me. I am a wife, a daughter, a sister, and a friend. I am an artist. I am a crafter. I laugh. A lot.  I really like to make stuff.  It keeps me happy!  I am fortunate to have a wonderfully supportive husband of 12 years and two beautiful black labs, Maggie and Thatcher...my girlies! I am thrilled to be this month's Featured Artist for Amazing Crafting Products and I hope you enjoy my projects!

Jennifer is a mixed-media artist, stamper and paper-crafting "EXTRAORDINAIRE"! You may have seen her work over at several of the popular card and stamping sites such as Simon Say Stamp, Cas-ual Fridays, Fresh Squeezed Stamps, or as a contributor of Craft Critique. You can check out more of Jennifer's amazing work at her blog "Just Jingle".

One of her most recent accomplishments is this totally out-of-this-world WHO-vian creation that is published in the current Paper Crafts Magazine May/June issue!!! I have to gush on this because I am a fellow WHO-vian and DOCTOR WHO fan. Jingle is a true craftswoman, having hand-cut this AMAZING card – and paired it up with a perfect quote too, I might add.

If you think this is cool - just wait until you see her work with Amazing Crafting Products. The following are Jennifer's projects during her time as one of our AMAZING creatives. Please click on the image to go to the accompanying how-to post.

Saving the best for last and "HANDS-DOWN" my personal favorite - this hand casting!

Thanks so much for dropping by! Check back next Monday for a special project by our Featured Artist Jennifer Ingle... you don't want to miss it! CLICK HERE to head on over to Jennifer's Blog "Just Jingle" and check out more of her fabulously creative adventures.

Have a fabulous evening! :) Sb
