#Cre8time Treasures... Handmade Heart Keepsake by Bridget Cordero

One of the saddest days in our lives happened when my daughters father died. We were expecting it for some time but are never really prepared for loosing a loved one. We received his ashes in a black box they give you at the funeral parlor. We could not decide on an urn so we brought him home in that box.

My daughter decided to create a shrine in her room of her dad, it is filled with memories and pictures and just beautiful. After seeing this I wanted to give her something small that she could display anywhere and that's when I came up with this heart keepsake.

I had this little heart box made of plastic and decided this would work perfectly. I mixed up some Amazing Mold Rubber and made a mold of the heart {CLICK HERE to view mixing/preparation}.

Once cured I removed it from the plastic container and popped out the heart. My mold was ready for some Amazing Clear Cast Resin and the embellishments I had chosen to put in it.

Figuring the best way to go about this was by using layers, I mixed up the a small amount of the Amazing Clear Cast Resin and poured it into the mold {CLICK HERE to view mixing/preparation}. I found a shamrock and placed that with a metal "love" charm into the resin. Once this cured for 12 hours, I carefully took some of Abbey's Dads ashes and laid them on that layer. I mixed up more Clear Cast and poured another layer in. I decided some blue glitter was needed and at this point added it. Once this cured I added one more layer of Clear Cast. I gave this two full days to cure before I popped it out of the mold.

I'm so happy with the way this came out and thankful that my daughter will have this beautiful keepsake for the rest of her life because of these amazing products.

How to Catch a #Cre8time Leprechaun... by Bridget Cordero

What does St. Patrick’s Day mean to you? Coming from an Irish family, it was a celebration with corned beef, potatoes, carrots and cabbage along with decorations of horseshoes, Leprechauns and shamrocks. It is said that Leprechauns were fairy sized shoemakers and if captured by a human they could grant that person 3 wishes for their freedom.

For the upcoming holiday I’ve created a leprechaun hat and
used resin embellishments to decorate the piece.

First I created the hat with felt and cardboard. Knowing I needed a gold buckle, I found an old key ring that I took apart and molded. I used Amazing Mold Putty to create the mold of the buckle. It worked beautifully. CLICK HERE to view mixing and preparation.

Then I grabbed a paint brush and brushed the Alumilite Gold Metallic Powder around the mold. I mixed up some Amazing Casting Resin and poured it into my mold. As this was curing I worked on creating the other embellishments I needed for my hat.

I did not have green dye... so I mixed Alumilite Yellow and
Blue dyes with the resin to get green shamrocks.

I then poured the mixture into molds and waited for them to cure. The dye colors mixed together made the perfect green. CLICK HERE to view mixing/preparation of Amazing Casting Resin.

To make the horseshoe I molded an old Christmas ornament that I found (see mold picture above for the original). I brushed Alumilite Copper Metallic Powder into the mold as I did with the buckle, poured in some Amazing Casting Resin and waited for it to cure. I embellished the horseshoe with my handmade shamrock and also some small green resin leprechaun feet that I made (using same process as the shamrock).

Once all my pieces were done I embellished the hat with them!!

When #Cre8time Goes Dimensional... Whimsical Owl Canvas by Bridget Cordero

Hi everyone! I decided for this project to go back to the basics and how you can use your resin pieces. I started with a 12" x 12" canvas and I painted it – once this was dry I used a stencil from my stash and stenciled the background. The tree of life started off a lot smaller then pictured. I used my paint and brush to extend the branches from the stenciled tree.

While this was drying, I used an owl mold I had previously molded from a bracelet and Amazing Mold Putty to make up my owls.

I mixed up small amounts at a time of the Amazing Casting Resin with the red and cotton candy Alumidust and poured into my molds. Some of the resin owl pieces I painted with acrylic paints.

If you would like to see
more details of my process,
please click HERE to view video.

Once the owls were all painted I added a few dress up pieces to them, glasses on some and a hat on the other and glued the owls on the branches. I hope you find inspiration to use your resin pieces on your canvases.

How do you add dimension and whimsy
to your mixed media creations??

A #Cre8time Toast to Love... #DIY Champagne Glasses by Bridget Cordero

Hello friends! With the season of love fast approaching, I decided to decorate a couple of champagne glasses that we could use on Valentine’s Day – using a few things from my papercrafting stash and Amazing Casting Products.

First I decided I wanted hearts and polka-dots on these glasses. After considering this for a while, I took masking tape and laid it on the sheet that is left over from printer labels and then punched out the hearts to create a stencil.

Figuring I need to layer the heart stencils to make a kind of wall so the resin stays inside of the heart. Once created, I placed them in various places on the glasses.

Then I mixed up some Amazing Casting Resin and Alumilite Red Dye, and waited a little bit until the resin started to thicken... then used the stir stick to put the resin into the heart stencils. CLICK HERE to view mixing/preparation for Amazing Casting Resin.

After a few minutes while the resin was not fully cured, I removed the stencils. While the hearts were setting, I mixed up a little more Amazing Casting Resin with some Cotton Candy Alumidust to make polka dots on the glasses. Before applying with my stir stick, I waited for the resin to thicken a bit.

I cleaned up the glasses with a wet paper towel and now we have two cute champagne glasses to enjoy on Valentine’s Day.

How do you creatively show your love??

Merry and #Cre8time Bright Christmas Tags...
by Bridget Caldwell-Cordero

Hello everyone! I’m super excited to bring you this project. I wanted to make tags for some Christmas gifts but did not want to use or make the traditional ones... so I came up with this idea to create them out of resin {or should I say Amazing Clear Cast Resin and Amazing Mold Rubber}.

How does one make a resin tag??! I cut out a chipboard tag and wrapped it with saran wrap. Then used am empty tin I had and securely glued the tag to the inside. After that, I mixed up some Amazing Mold Rubber and poured it in {CLICK HERE for mixing/preparation}. Once this was cured I pulled the mold out and then the fun began...

I mixed some Amazing Clear Cast Resin – which is so easy to work with! Since the curing time takes longer, it gave me longer time to play around with the scenery I wanted to create on my tags. I also used the White Alumilite Dye to make it look like snow. I placed buttons and stickers to make little scenes on each tag.

Once the first layer cured over night, I mixed up some more of the Amazing Clear Cast Resin and added another layer. At this time I placed more decorations on a few of my tags to give them a 3-D layered effect. Once the tags were completely cured, I popped them out of the mold, drilled a hole in the top and added some ribbon and other fibers.

But the fun does not end there… When you share your gift with that special someone attach a ornament hook and they have a keepsake to hang on their tree for years to come!

How would you take your
holiday tags to a new dimension??

Happy Little #Cre8time Shower Curtain Hooks...
by Bridget Cordero #12DaysofHomeDecor

Have you ever had one of your decorative shower curtain hooks break and you don't want to buy a whole new pack? Well I'm going to show you how you can make a new one using a few Amazing Casting Products!

You will need the broken hook, some Amazing Mold Putty, Amazing Casting Resin and acrylic paint to turn this broken piece into a new piece.

Using the Amazing Mold Putty I made a mold of the unbroken frog.

Once the mold putty was cured, I stirred up some Amazing Casting Resin and poured it in the mold and waited a few minutes and set the hook in place on the back. After the resin cured I popped it out and painted it.

The finished hooks!

Can you tell the repaired
hook from the originals??

#Cre8time Cabinet Updo... the KEY to Amazing Drawers by Bridget Cordero

Hey Everyone. Recently I purchased new organizational drawers for my craft space and they needed drawer pulls. So I saw this key hanging in my daughter's house and decided that's what I want for drawer pulls. I do need to make 30 of these but for now one set is done and working with Amazing Casting Products it's so easy to mix up a batch of Amazing Casting Resin, pour it and go do something else crafty while it sets.

So first I had to mold this key by using the Amazing Mold Putty. I took equal parts of the yellow and white putty and kneaded it together. Then I took the key and pressed it into the mold putty. Once this has hardened I removed the key. Next I used the Bronze Alumilite Metallic Powder and a dry paint brush to brush some onto the mold.

I then mixed up the Amazing Casting Resin and added some Alumilite Black Dye so my key would be black with the bronze tint just like the original key. Once this is all mixed together, I poured it into my mold.

I then poked holes in the bottom of these small cups so the screw would stand up straight as it is curing in the mold. When cured, I removed the cups, mixed up a little more Amazing Casting Resin and poured it into the mold to give the screws a more secure hold.

While this is setting up I needed to make more spacers. These will go onto the screw to allow more room between the drawer and the pull. To do this I mixed up some Amazing Mold Rubber (one scoop of catalyst (the pink liquid) to every 2 ounces of the mold rubber {CLICK HERE to view mixing/preparation}. Once I had the spacers (the white ones in photo) secured to a small cup, I poured the mold rubber. After this had set I mixed up the Amazing Casting Resin with the black Alumilite Dye and poured into these molds. I made so any because I will need 60 of these spacers.

After assembling the spacers and nuts onto the screws this is how the drawer pull looks. I could not be more excited about these. It was so much fun to customize my craft storage.

They look amazing on my drawers! Now to finish the handles for 24 more drawers. Happy Crafting!
