Sneaking a little Holiday #Cre8time... AMAZING #jewelry Inspiration by Melissa Johnson

Hello everyone! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday :) Today I am sharing a necklace I made over the Christmas break using goodies in my stash and some Amazing Clear Cast Resin.

I wanted to do something creative, but with all of my kids at home for Christmas break it's hard to get much accomplished. This necklace was very easy to make and I was able to use up some things I had in my stash. Always a bonus in my book!

I used some vintage style buttons and broke the backing off of them so they would lay flat. After some digging I found a bezel I had never used and another resin charm I had made a while back. I hot glued the buttons in the bezel, filled in the space with a few stones, and poured Amazing Clear Cast Resin over the entire piece. I also swirled in a bit of the Gold Alumidust.

Here is the final piece, all completed and put together.

What did you make in your
Cre8time over the holiday break? :)

#Cre8time Ring-a-Ding-Thing by Aimée Wheaton

Hello there!! This month I tried my hand again with Amazing Mold Rubber. This is my back up project because I messed up the mold box for the first one. I intend to redo it again possibly next month for you to see. This sweet little ring-a-ding-thing was made by molding a cute little glass leaf dish Susan bought me on a trek up to Orlando and a visit to Adjectives Market, a favorite of ours.

I don't have a cute ring dish and I thought of using the glass dish – but then again I have a toddler and an 8 year old who get into my things and thought it would be better to have something more durable. So glad I know how to use these AMAZING products!! Bring on the Amazing Mold Rubber. One of the reasons I love Mold Rubber is because it gives you great detail and will replicate the smoothest surface... especially using glass.

I forgot to take a before photo of me mixing the mold rubber and pouring it into the prepared mold box, but you can see how it's done HERE:

The original glass bowl on the left, and the bottom grooves didn't show up in the mold as I mounted that area in my mold box. I may mold it again on the opposite side and compare the two molds. You can see here how the mold is formed. The scalloped detail along the sides and edges were captured.

I decided I wanted to have a pop of purple so I added 5 drops of the Alumilite Violet Dye into Part "A" of Amazing Casting Resin and mixed well. It's such a gorgeous color.

Next I slowly poured Part "B" into this yellow cup,
mixed it all up and poured into the mold.

As always I make too much resin – so I used this extra mold
to pour the excess resin so I didn't waste it.

After I pulled the resin out I had this smooth purple container! I love it!! I'm going to keep this as is but thought of other ways to use it.

Mixed Media Frame: You could take a vintage photo and glue it in with some cute words, glitter and extra little trinkets then go back over it with some Amazing Clear Cast Resin to seal it up. Drill a hole and you have a custom little piece or ornament - hey that gives me an idea for Part B on this project, stay tuned!!
Seasonal Decor: Make little Fall place settings for Thanksgiving! Use a red/yellow/brown/ or orange dye and place a card on each one.

This is perfect for me!

Or to store little trinkets, buttons.

I hope you enjoyed this project!! I think I'll be making a few more!!
The options are endless!!

#Cre8time to Hide the Ugly... #DIY Home Beautification by Aimée Wheaton

I have Happy Resin Caps!

Hello creatives! I scored an amazingly large chalkboard a few years ago from a local framer shop for FREE!! I waited until we had the right home to hang it up. I lovingly repainted it at Christmas time and wrote a Christmas blessing to my girls on it in what I thought was chalk markers, well they stained the board and I now have to repaint it. So for this project excuse the message on the board, I couldn't find a roller brush to repaint it for photos but you will get the idea.

This chalkboard had to mounted by drilling through the wood sides for a secure mount. Because of that we had to fill the holes in with wood putty. It didn't look the best so I decided to make some resin covers or caps to cover the wood putty and make it look pretty. I used vintage buttons, Amazing Mold Putty, Alumidust and Amazing Casting Resin.

Cast resin buttons to match covering up the ugly!
All you need is a bit of glue...

to go from blah to beautiful!

All Finished! :)

I love how it turned out! I may end up making more just to make it a little bit funky but will keep it this way for awhile to see how I feel :)

Making Extraordinary Buttons the Amazing Remelt Way... by Lynne Suprock

Buttons, buttons... who has the buttons??? Well Lynne here, as a member of the Amazing Casting Products Creative Team, with a few of my own, just made, buttons. Watch my tutorial below on how to make these glimmer, shimmer buttons, using the new molding product, Amazing Remelt.

This stuff feels and even smells like J-E-L-L-O.
How ironic since it is food safe and it does jiggle :-)

So let's get going and see how to melt this product and use it to mold a few favorite buttons to create a bit of the extraordinary. Enjoy!

Once you have made your beautiful buttons, you can incorporate them into any number of projects. Me.... I chose to put them into a necklace using a little felt, silicone glue, and bling.

With the addition of felt, glue, scissors, ribbon, flat backed bling, jump rings...

And VOILA!

What crafty treasures would you
mold with Amazing Remelt?

I would love if you would leave a comment below to let us know how this technique works for you! Please share what you make with Amazing Casting Products on our website in the User Gallery.

Celebrating Dia de los Muertos at #Cre8time! Festive Wreath Tutorial by Aimée Wheaton

Well it's that time of year again, time for spooky things, orange, purple, black and of course sugar skulls! This project came together browsing Michael's for inspiration. I found these card stock Sugar Skull die cuts and wondering if I could mold it, that kind of sparked the rest of the wreath! I've never made a wreath so this is new to me but it was very fun and easy to make!

If you can't find a wreath you want to hang, make one!!! The possibilities are endless and you can do so much with Amazing Crafting Products!!

First I must introduce my helpers, my daughter Lorelei and my crazy tuxie Zooey. We pulled out the fabric to cut and she immediately thought she'd get on all of them and have a nice little nap. It was cute! Loved having Lorelei help me, she cut most of the fabric and tied a lot onto the wreath frame.

Now onto the project!! So we start with the fabric and cut strips of all 4 types of fabric, long enough to go around the wreath and tie in a knot.

We started with a pattern and then filled in the white spots with whatever we had left. There is really no rhyme or reason to it, whatever you like best! I'm sure I could have added a lot more to it to make it fluffy but knew I was going to add embellishments as well. While Lorelei was tying the fabric on I was making the molds with Amazing Mold Putty {CLICK HERE to view mixing/preparation}.

I really wasn't sure how well this card stock would mold and thought I would test it out. I tried to make it on the thinner side so it wouldn't be too heavy for the wreath.

I also thought I wanted to add the word "BOO" but then changed my mind on that because it's usually not associated with sugar skulls but rather with ghosts. I may use them for another project.

Pretty impressive for paper!! The mold turned out great!

This is the stage the wreath is at right now. We've weaved in these sparkly floral embellishments into the fabric and I secured them down with a hot glue gun.

Right now I only have the metallic powders from Alumilite, so I thought I'd try my mineral makeup to color the mold. These are eyeshadows! I painted them into the mold like I would do the powders and then poured the Amazing Casting Resin on the top of it. It worked like a charm!

The painted mold, very pretty!

I sprinkled in silver glitter in the letter molds. Then I mixed up a batch of Amazing Casting Resin and poured into the molds {CLICK HERE to view mixing/preparation}. Next time I would paint the letter molds with a powder first, the resin made bald spots in the glitter as you can see in this photo.

Let them cure and then demold.

I love the subtle colors of the skull!! I then took a fine point black Sharpie and highlighted the different areas with it.

You know how I pretty much have wire in every project, well this one is no different! I used purple, orange and black glass beads and strong onto the thin wire for some extra bling.

Next I weaved them into the fabric and wreath
and bent it a bit for some movement.

I decided the project needed some more embellishments and decided to throw in some vintage buttons with a hot glue gun. I then glued down the sugar skull, the glitter embellishments and the rest of the buttons around the wreath.

Beads and button.

Bottom of the wreath.

Blingy side!

Here it is! What do you think? I love the mix of colors in this piece. This was a fun project to make and you can get your kids to help! I will probably make a Christmas wreath as well. I think I'm going to let Lorelei take it to school to decorate her classroom, her teacher wanted some decorations. This is a smaller wreath but could easily be duplicated into a bigger design. I wanted to have more with the Amazing Casting Resin on this piece, but I think the Sugar Skull sets it off nicely. I should probably make a Boo wreath as I have the letters molded as well. Hope you enjoyed this project :)

Vintage Button Finds Transformed into AMAZINGLY Colored Jewels... by Brenda Burfeind

Good day, Brenda here again to hopefully inspire you to make something. I love making jewelry and today I am here to show you a simple jewelry project that was inspired by my trip to Florida.

A few months back I took my vacation in Florida and I got to meet our fabulous leader Susan. She traveled up meet me in Daytona Beach and we spent one whole day junk-ing. I had such a great time with her and we found some awesome trinkets. Today I will show you two of those fabulous finds.

Here are a couple of buttons I found and just loved the detail.

Using the Alumidust, I "painted" all of my molds created with Amazing Mold Putty.
All of these items were found while I was in Florida.

I decided to go with a green/blue with a bit of purple to remember my days in Florida.
The beaches and the ocean water were fabulous. Just look at the sparkle... love it!

Then I poured Amazing Casting Resin mixed with the Alumilite Black Dye
over the top of all my molds. So messy, but so much fun!

I absolutely love the colors. Who says blue and green
don't go together? I even added a little bit of purple.

Searching through my GIANT stash of beads, I found
the perfect ones to go with my new recasted buttons.

What kind of jewelry would you
create with your button stash?

I love comments, so please tell me what you would create!

Until next time, happy crafting!
