Gone #Cre8time "Batty" Resin and Wire Earrings... with Cat Kerr

Creepy Cool and #POE (etic) Remelt Pendants... AMAZING Inspiration by Isabel Villarreal

As a small business owner I like to add a little freebie for customers whenever they make a purchase. Usually I give small stamped items but this time around I wanted to make something that really captured the feel of my products, which tend to be on the dark side with a little cuteness thrown in. I created these creepy cool pendants using Amazing Remelt, which can be used to make molds, melted down and reused to make more!

  

I had previously sculpted the skull and anatomical heart out of clay and then attached them to some clear pendant blanks. A small plastic storage bowl served as my molding box, all I had to do was adhere my originals to the bottom of the bowls using hot glue. Using a microwave and working in 5 second increments I melted down some Amazing Remelt and poured it over my pieces.

It was cured in about 15 minutes. and just look at these molds! Every detail perfectly captured and ready to use in just minutes. Since I would be using these molds to make LOTS of pendants, I made a few molds of each. Multiples will save me so much time.

A dusting of Alumidust in the molds really brought out the details. These were made using Amazing Clear Cast Resin and finished with hemp twine.

Poe Poe Pitiful Annabel Lee... a Tabletop Display by Tanya Ruffin

Inspired by a recent trip to Edgar Allan Poe's New York Cottage... it is tiny!

And also by an awesome Stevie Nicks rendition of "Annabel Lee". 

If this doesn't conjure up all kinds of haunted imagery, I don't know what will!

On this trip, I collected an Edgar Allan Poe key chain

and a copy of Poe's handwritten Annabel Lee poem.

I made a batch of Amazing Mold Rubber and created a mold of the book charm and while waiting, a color copy of the poem.

I created two molds with this batch of Amazing Mold Rubber; a day of the dead skull and the Poe book {CLICK HERE to view mixing/preparation}. 

At the Dollar Tree, I purchased a string of skeletons and a tabletop tombstone. I painted a black and brown wash over the skeleton to age it and painted the tombstone solid black.

Then decorated the tomb with my posed skeleton, the book cast in Amazing Casting Resin, and poem that I coated in Amazing Clear Cast Resin.  I've included the poem text below.

I also embellished with a gargoyle (from Dollar Tree that I also made a mold of using Amazing Mold Rubber) and a raven skull from a purchased mold. All embellished with Silver Rub 'n Buff®... lots of Rub 'n Buff®!

I just love that it is actually Poe's handwriting!

Paper Pendants... AMAZING Inspiration by Isabel Villarreal

I'm sure that at some point while you're cleaning or organizing your bookshelf you have come across an old tattered book and you've asked yourself "Self, what can I do with this old book?" Well, I'm here to tell you don't throw it - give it a new life! With a little imagination and a little help from Amazing Crafting Products, you can turn old pages into a new story. This month I'm focusing on my favorite author and poet:  Edgar Allan Poe. I have an old yellowed copy of a story collection that has pages falling away from the binding, so I decided to take those pages and turn them into a paper pendant.

I found these great vintage movie posters on the web and just printed them out in a small size and attached them to card stock. Book pages were then cut to size and applied to the back of the images using Mod Podge. The back of each pendant is made of 7 layered "pages" from the corresponding story title, making both the front and back of the pendant visual focal points. Being that the pendants are paper, I had to find a way to protect them so that they could actually be used as jewelry. To seal the entire pendant for gloss and protection it was Amazing Clear Cast Resin to the rescue! Sterling wire provided the final touch.

I'm always looking for creative ways to use household items and I hate to throw out books, so I'm really excited to try this out with other favorites.
