Supplies:
- Decopatch Tissue paper {from Frog Dog Studio April Mixed Media Kit}
- Amazing Clear Cast Resin {available in the Add-On Kit}
- Glue
- Clip
Directions:
The first thing you do is cut a about a 5" x 5" square of tissue paper. Then mix up a small (real small) amount of Amazing Clear Cast Resin. Pour the resin on the tissue paper and using a craft stick, spread it all the way to the edge. Then wait over night for it to cure.
Once dry you can cut your square into a circle. I just free-handed the circle but you can use a lid to something as a guide if you must. It doesn't need to be perfect.
Fold your paper circle in half, and gently crease it about 1" in the middle. Don't crease the whole fold, only pinch the middle to help the cookie fold even. Because the paper is now coated with resin, it will be more stiff, so be gentle. I added a little dot of glue to one side, just enough to hold it down. I then clamped the end down to let the glue dry.
I had to puff out my circle. I guess the combination
of the tissue paper and clear cast resin weighed it down.
I then folded it too look like a fortune cookie.
You may need to rework the area you pinched in. The tissue paper likes to crinkle, so I had to fold a little and puff it back out a few times.
Once you get it folded nicely, you can put a spot of glue about midway up the fold. If you put it at the tip where the ends meet the fortune cookie would be too tightly folded. You want to to pop open a little. My clear cast resin was still a little tacky so it actually held the cookie together.
Then glue your fortune in! Since I don't want mine to be taken apart for the fortune, I just glued mine in. At this point you could brush on another layer of clear resin.
