#Cre8time for making Award Winning Medallions with AMAZING Remelt... by Brenda Burfeind

Good day Crafties! Brenda from Creativity is a State of Mind here today and I am so excited to share my version of the remelt process with you today. We now have the new Amazing Remelt added to our craft toolbox. It's Non Toxic and therefore can be used for food molding as some of my design team members have already showed you. If you missed any of the posts, be sure to go through the blog and find all the great inspirations they have shown {or CLICK HERE}. It is also intended for remelt and exactly why it's called REMELT. I will get to that in a minute.

First let's get to my posting... Let me give you a little background on why I created this ornament. Some of you know I belong to a dart league and every week our "dart fees" go back to our league to raise money for Cancer. We donate all of our proceeds to people in need of help. Thus far we have given over $8000 to individuals to assist with gas, food, lodging, whatever they want to use it for. Besides our dart league we also do fundraisers of various kinds and since I love to craft I use my talent to raise money in that way.

So here we go... I started out wanting to make Christmas ornaments to represent the cancer ribbon in some way.

I love the medallion look so I started out with my paper, scorer, etc.

Now I love the look of these medallions, but they are a bugger for me. One paper medallion took me over 45 minutes to make. I know you paper crafters are horrified by my timing, but I can never get them to stay together long enough. The accordian fold always jumps away from me. So what better way to utilize my Amazing Casting Products? Make duplicates!!!

I hot glued a pink ribbon (that I previously created also with the Amazing Casting Products) to the accordion folded medallion and made a mold in Amazing Mold Putty {CLICK HERE to view mixing/preparation}.

It came out wonderful!!!

Love, love the look. I mixed a batch of Amazing Casting Resin and poured into my new mold {CLICK HERE to view mixing/preparation}. When cured, I added a bit of paint and inked the edges. Now my medallions take less than 15 minutes to make.

I wanted to make these for a fundraiser and needed them in a more timely fashion. Therefore I needed multiple molds. Now I could use my Amazing Mold Putty but I want as least 5 or more molds and as I don't know if I will EVER use these molds again after this Christmas season – it would be a waste of the mold putty. So therefore I decided to try the new AMAZING REMELT. Why you ask? Because once I've made all the ornaments I can REMELT the molds and have no waste.

Let me show you how...

First I hot glued my resin medallion that came from the first Amazing Mold Putty mold down into a plastic food tray I picked up at the Dollar Store. Then I sprayed the Alumilite UMR Mold Release inside the chamber and all around my resin piece. This is a very crucial step. Make sure you use a mold release each and every time {cooking oil spray will work also}.

Then I melted my Amazing Remelt in the microwave for 15 seconds for this chunk {CLICK HERE to view preparation}. It was a previous mold I used and no longer have a use for... remember you can REMELT them.

I poured my Amazing Remelt over the top of my resin piece and let it cool down in the refrigerator for 25 minutes. It totally depends on how big your mold is for the cooling down time.

Here are my finished medallions and the Amazing Remelt molds. Now I love the look of them opaque, but I was wondering what they would look like in clear?

I then poured Amazing Clear Cast Resin into my molds after I dusted the "ribbon" with the Alumidust in Cotton Candy and this came out. You can see a tiny hint of the pink ribbon with the lovely clear glass look behind it. I then drilled a tiny hole in the top of the ornament to attach a hanger with a matching pink ribbon...

...and you have a beautiful crystal-like ornament!

I love the way the light shines right through the ornament!

Now I hope I've given you a reason to use the Amazing Remelt as you can make MULTIPLE molds and not have any waste because you can REMELT them when you are done.

I for sure will be using the Amazing Remelt more often since I tend to make numerous pieces from one mold! Not only will this save me time – but also money!

What would you mold to create
your own custom tree ornaments?

Until next time, Brenda saying see you soon!
